If you do it yourself, save time on those stupid forums and read your trusty Haynes guide. Everything you need is somewhere in this book. Except tools, heh!

Includes mainly the steps needed for ongoing maintenance. Useful but not very good for an overhaul. It is best used by someone who is knowledgeable about mechanics.

This book has pretty clear step by step descriptions with photos to help you troubleshoot. With this book a long little study. Almost all maintenance work can be carried out by hand. Save your money. However, some basic knowledge is required beforehand.

Very legible, like new condition when I got it last year but has since been captioned, colored and chapters highlighted. It was important to me to be able to find easy-to-understand instructions and photos that would point out the problems with my 2000 4-cylinder Grand Am. I always take it with me when I go to the mechanic in case they don't have it on hand. Great help.

Very useful when buying spare parts. It turns out that at least Chevy, Olds, Buick and Pontiac. All chassis are the same. The power windows are divided into two sets. I bought a Chevy from a dealer at Revain even though they had a Pontiac in stock that I needed. Copied page with difference returned with wrong spare part.
