These are solid state relays, their application.

These are Solid State Relays, their application is somewhat specific. You need to know how a solid state relay works, as well as leakage voltage and trip voltage, to know if it's right for your application. It's like replacing the light bulbs in your car with LEDs.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Safety

The one I have didn't work at all

The one I have didn't work at all, scratches dents, looks like it's driven around the block dozens of times, first got it I used them on the solid state device in my truck it didn't work so I figured maybe the problem is adding a solid state to a solid state so I pulled the relay out of my fuel pump and plugged it in a, dead, dead, dead. That sounded like a good idea, I hope you have better luck than me if you decide to give it a try

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Custom wiring works best for switches and relays

I ordered one of these to try in the central electrics of my Porsche 928 which has 22 relays. I was hoping this type could be used for the 85-86-87-30 four pin relays used for the fuel pump, left hand engine and ignition control computers. Unfortunately, although the headers have the same configuration, the wiring is not compatible. What a pity! There would be a HUGE market for reliable solid state relays to replace all relays in Porsche, VW and Audi vehicles. I really wanted this one to work…

Good product! good for relay

I've used two of these to connect a high amp PWM (pulse width modulation) motor fan and I'm very happy with their performance. According to the Hella website, the amperage for this relay is 22 amps at maximum operating temperature. Use multiple relays in parallel to give your devices a maximum operating current of +15%. My fan draws 35 amps so I used two 44 amp relays. (35A + 15% = 40.25A) This relay fits into a standard socket and the pins are numbered the same as a standard relay, but the…
