I liked the concept and size of this product so I bought one for myself and one as a gift. The glass is so thin it shattered after the third use. I would not recommend this product as it is way overpriced for the quality you get. Favorite coffee maker in my kitchen. I usually grind my coffee very finely to make it stronger. I wanted a reusable filter to reduce debris, but a lot of them don't do well with fine grinds. This in no way skips the grinding in the coffee. It drains a little slowly, but that's what a strong brew is all about (my previous brew dripped pretty quickly and had to run through the water twice or the coffee would be weak). May 30 update. The rim detaches from the filter after less than six months of use. I am extremely disappointed. I used a pouring filter for a while but didn't have a carafe. Pour straight into a mug is fine, but I really wanted a decanter. This small one is enough for two cups of coffee (if you don't count the giant mug as one cup). The design is appealing.
