Works great at a great price

This thing works great. The receiver eye of my new Yamaha AV amp is on the left side and is covered by a case so I couldn't control anything from my chair to the left of the amp. I installed this to move my eye over the cabinet lid and now it works great. I just wish there was a way to get rid of all the extra cables. They contain long wires for different situations so mine is very close to the entrance and eye position so there are a lot of extra cores but other than that it works great. The…

Worked great until it broke.

At first this product was amazing. The small infrared receiver is barely visible and has a backlight that lights up when it receives a signal from the remote control. The repeater part is also very small and transmits the signal from the repeater without errors... So far this has not happened. While the receiver still lights up when it receives input from the remote control, the repeater no longer transmits a signal. I confirmed it wasn't the remote control or any obstacle between the receiver…

Annoying problem solved

After a week of use it does exactly what I wanted. My Sony audio system has an unusually narrow IR reception range; This renders the remotes unusable in most combined kitchen/dining/living rooms. When tested in an ideal location (but ugly due to the exposure) it was amazing and was able to pick up signals bouncing off a window on the opposite wall. When installed in an inconspicuous spot it's still very good and does what I wanted it to do. The only potential downside is that if you allow the…

This IR repeater transmits my direct tv remote signal quite well.

This IR repeater does a pretty good job of relaying my Remote Direct TV signal to my Gene mini wireless client. I had to switch from RF to IR because I use a slingbox and everything is stored behind my wall mounted TV. When using the Direct TV remote, I have to say that I have to press the buttons much more slowly than if there were no repeater, otherwise I risk losing characters. I like that the LED on the receiver turns red to let you know it's actually receiving and passing a signal. Part of

Upgraded my TV with remote controls and accessories

Easy to connect. Works great (and makes my TV better). My TV is actually designed to be built in as the built in IR receiver is on the bottom and tilted down. Therefore, getting the TV to pick up distant signals was very difficult on the stand. On volume up/down it stopped and I had to wave the remote or keep pressing the button until it changed again. I installed the extension in the top corner of the TV and it works great no matter where I point the remote as long as it's pointed at the TV…

Simple, cheap and reliable

I needed to control a directv box in another room and this remote extension worked great. I cut off a small transmitter wire and soldered an additional 30 foot of 18 gauge speaker wire to go through the attic and down the wall. The extra length did not affect performance in any way. Long-distance signals are still instant and reliable. This setup works much better than the RF remote/antenna option that Directv sells for their H25 boxes. I have an RF packet on another receiver and it only works…

Works 100% perfectly. With Yamaha TSR-7850. No questions.

Update 2020-06-05 I will never use the remote control that came with the Yamaha TSR-7850 again. I have a Samsung Note 8 (Android) phone and downloaded the Yamaha AV Controller app. I have set up a Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver to access the wireless WiFi in our house and I can control all the functions of the Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver from my phone using the Yamaha TSR-7850 AV Controller app. So in truth, no IR receiver/transmitter is required as I can communicate with the Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver…
