Description of HILLMAN 35263 Painted Washer Head Self Piercing

Gutter screws offer a slightly larger diameter and aggressive threads to tightly fill exiting spike holes for a strong, watertight fit. Self-piercing screws penetrate metal and tap their own mating threads to eliminate the need for pre-drilling. Zinc-plating provides moderate corrosion resistance and durability. Great for general repair or around the house. White painted head blends in with surrounding hardware.

Replacing rusty gutter screws.

Bought to replace rusty gutter fittings. I didn't want to go to the big store just for the screws, so I used my basic membership to have them delivered the next day. The price was the same as in big stores.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Some trouble

Works as expected but expensive $$$

Exactly what I wanted but took a star off because they're bloody expensive. I have some new plastic roof vents that are painted white and painted to match my white faceplate so I figured they would look great (and they are) but damn them four times (if not more) than an unpainted one Screw are of the same size.

Functional and inexpensive

I needed some white screws to attach the plastic plugs. These worked fine. My drill held them in place fairly well and they drilled through (albeit in plastic) with no hesitation. I hope they don't rust but I can't wait to write a review for two years. 100 for 6 dollars? works for me

another disappointment

As far as I know this is another scam. Although the finish is good and the tip is sharp, the head is only 1/8 inch proud. Why do they keep making those screws! This screw does not fit my Makita magnetic bit holder. A guy working at a height of 30 feet is trying to screw these screws into the gutter and one by one they fall to the ground. I return them for a refund and try to find suitable Allen sockets in the warehouse or roofing house. The photo is a little deceptive. I asked in the community…

  • Excellent price

  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

It makes it worse! for fasteners

I don't know who thought it was a good idea to make these screw heads for a flat head screwdriver. I used these stupid things to attach downspout extensions and what a hassle. Trying to screw them sideways into plastic and metal was so frustrating that I kept cursing and had to attach three extensions. Two bolts each, plus one bolt where the extension goes into the large drain pipe. Why aren't these screws Phillips? The flat head of my screwdriver kept slipping off these screws, and this…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Some bugs

It served its purpose and really doesn't deserve a bad review.

I use my share of these types of screws from various manufacturers and there are always bad reviews for falling out of someone's magnetic bit holder. They're colored in a way that works against you, but you need a bit holder with a magnet at the end, not the bottom at the base, to hold better. The head on them is typical of most screws, and making it "prouder" will make it stand out more on the finished project and not be a typical screw either. I used them to finish a metal panel and they fit…
