Same problem as other reviewers, Bolt Spins. If you have welding or soldering experience, you will not find it difficult to weld it to the bracket, then the device will work very well.

While the top nut has a key to prevent it from turning, you will need to find a similar key yourself to prevent the bottom nut from turning. I bought one of these 2 years ago and didn't have this problem back then.

This type of spring works with torsion, not tension, be careful when installing. It doesn't stretch at all so find out how to install and how it works before installing. There should be many videos on YouTube how it works and you need to install it, just search for the right video.

Stainless steel construction does not seal when gate is opened, spring pin at bottom is loose and spins freely. Because of this, the spring slips and loosens with each use. The mounting bar will not stay in place, if tension is lost it will fall out of position. Terrible design that comes off easily with a dent or weld for the bottom spring bolt. Do not buy

The bottom spring linkage screw head must remain in place to allow the spring to be tensioned to adjust the gate closing force. The two closers I ordered allowed the head of the bolt to rotate and not maintain tension to close the gate. I had to cut a small piece of washer and glue it in the gap, which stopped the rotation of the "fixed" screw head. FYI: There is a manufacturing/design issue, but it can be solved with some thought, tools, and time.

Read all the other 1 star reviews, they all have the same voltage problem. This product is not designed to hold tension securely as the bottom nut is not attached to the hinge. The spring has an adjustable nut at the top and a fixed nut at the bottom. Once the spring is screwed in, it must be preloaded to the desired tension by tightening the top nut, which is then held in place by a small metal plate that slides between the nut and the bracket.
