because they are nowhere near as good as my Freud bits that I have

These cutters are a steal! I was going to give them 4 stars because they are nowhere near as good as my Freud routers that I have, but I am a beginner in carpentry and this is a great starter bit set to get started using my router to get used to it while giving me versatility to be affordable. I've been using this set for about 2 months and all the bits I've used so far have worked great. I bought a set to see which attachments I would use the most and replaced them individually with better…

    Don't waste your money

Took out my set of bits today to cut a popular 5.5" x 23" piece of wood. After the first 23 inches on the router, I noticed that the router didn't cut the wood cleanly about halfway down the second edge. I realized in my mind that I would have to go over the edge again with the sander to clean it. Both short ends of the boards (5.5 inches) were singed and also lacked clean cuts. The first bit used in this sentence was now useless. My set of bits was collected and thrown in the trash. Don't…

Great buy - power tool parts and accessories

I use these bits in my custom Harbor Freight router table. I'll most likely buy individual beats (I haven't touched more than half of them), but I wouldn't hesitate to buy the same brand. I have 5 or 6 V bits. Each costs the same or more than this box, but as a last resort I would use one from this set. Cutter. I know I should use backing board, especially for cross sections, but the crack is usually minor and is removed with rip cuts. Keep the router moving. Do two passes instead of one deep…

You should be fine if you're new to routing, I'm very confused.

I admit I've used these bits for DIY projects, I'm by no means an expert but I've tested these bits. It should be fine if you are new to routing. I highly recommend watching some DIY tutorial videos, it will help you get the most out of your router bits. Problems such as workpiece breakage from cutting in the wrong direction and drill damage when attempting to remove too much material in one pass. 1/4" shank bits, but for large projects and frequent use, a 1/2" shank bit is usually recommended.

So far so good!: Power & Hand Tools

I've had these for a little over two months now and am very happy with their performance for the price. I've used a v-groove cutter, roman edge, corner chamfer, chamfer, and chamfer with excellent results and virtually no breakage, even on thin plywood. and noticed it doesn't make a really sharp V at the bottom of the groove but other than that it has no issues and is great for what I need. I have used this set extensively on several projects; One is a Chinese chess/go board and the other is a…

    Not bad for a beginner!

I'm new to routing. I read all the instructions, watched a few videos, and practiced on scrap wood before starting my project, but the 1/8" straight cutter still broke almost immediately - I wasn't shooting too much material. My router was installed in a table. I later realized that because this bit is so thin, it probably needs special care and may not be suitable for beginners. I switched to a 1/4" chisel with no problem and then to a Roman wedge. I've noticed that after a relatively small…
