Type of review

Based on the review on rtings.com I was quite impressed with this TV. However, after applying the latest update, the TV will not enable advanced display features unless I consent to data collection and sharing. Basically it's a bait and a substitute and I'm extremely NOT happy with it. In addition, when the microphone switch on the TV is off, 4 bright LEDs light up on the front of the TV (Hisense confirms this is intentional). This type of user attempts to compromise privacy is hostile and I am

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Never buy Hisense again

This is the email I sent to Hisense POP email address. On behalf of customer service, Hisense management needs to review my case H1397873 I called on Monday the 16th and was told someone would call me back within 24-48 hours. They didn't give me a case number, they didn't tell me to take a picture of the TV, they didn't email me to send pictures. To this day no one has called me. 48 hours later I called back the next day and opened a ticket with the serial number and model number and was asked…

Good for high-quality content, but not for everyday use.

I bought an H9G with TCL 6 series mini-LED, put them side by side and watched TV, movies and games like a normal person (that is, although I feel that all these TV picture tests are useful , sometimes they are not realistic for content that is normally played). I found the H9G to be very good at handling movies, especially streaming services that offer higher quality content (Disney Plus, Netflix, Revain). However, I found that even with the updated Xfinity "4k" box, the cable needed some…

Destructive News. Updated 6/21/2020

Unfortunately my new H9G arrived with a cracked screen, don't know how but opened the box impatiently and this 🤦🏽‍♂️Once back to the drawing board available again.* Update. Bought elsewhere for $899.00 and arrived Thursday before they sold out. This thing is a lycan 🐺 to hell with the beast I call this thing William for those familiar with the Underworld franchise 🤣 Bright bright screen at 1000 nits , colors are ridiculously bright and clear, black is pure ink, motion is smoother than oil…

Very good until it's

I'm not trying to denigrate the brand, I understand all brands have lemons and this is the normal side of the production batches unless the design is really bad. I'm giving one star to draw your attention to this review. I received my 65H9G at noon on June 12th, started calibrating a few hours later by Sunday and was ready to watch movies on Monday. I've amassed a decent collection of 4K HDR Blu-rays over the last few years, which I couldn't fully enjoy as my current VIZIO didn't have HDR…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Piggy bank price

Great 4K/HDR picture. And that's it.

Update August 23, 2020: Red halos appear when playing HDR content. I would NOT recommend this kit unless/until this issue is resolved. I will update this review if/when that happens. Update September 26, 2020: There seems to be a fix for the red halo now, but that will require a technician to come out and replace the part. So it's difficult to recommend someone to buy it and then have to deal with Hisense to actually fix this. Addendum: 06/11/20. Replacing the part does not solve the problem…

Pros
  • Quality build
Cons
  • Requires power outlet
