Easy to read thermometer

The thermometer is just what I needed for brewing beer on the stove top as it is easy to read and seems accurate. The only thing I noticed is that the small metal plug is cheap so after a few uses I couldn't put it on the pot like I used to. Otherwise I have nothing to complain about with this thermometer.

Great accurate thermometer!

Great thermometer, looks accurate and can be calibrated. I would like it to be shorter, but that's just my opinion. crushed ice around) or in boiling water (careful), if it doesn't read 32º or 212º, hold the dial and turn the nut very slowly until the correct value is displayed. robbin

bottom line? That does not work.

The seasoning is boiling. i see bubbles Plug this thermometer in and it reads 190. Obviously you can see when something is cooking. But what if you need to measure temperatures below 212 degrees? If that thermometer is off 22 degrees when cooking, what's up when you need 170? This will teach me how to buy something at a good price with free shipping. If you want accuracy, don't buy this thing.

Seems accurate and easy to use with my brew kettle

I've compared the temp on this one to the digital one I have and they both read the same thing. So I'm assuming it's accurate since the digital one I have, not to mention I can guarantee that one of the two is actually accurate, but both seem to be accurate. The only thing I complain about is that if you get the gauge part wet, even if you rinse it, water will get in. I sat here under the desert sun and in one day everything became clear. It's not really a big problem, you just have to be aware

Ideal for mashing and brewing.

I thought about buying a kettle with a thermometer but decided it's not always good to have something sticking out of the pot and interfering with the stirring, so I bought this instead. Let's face it, you only need it to control water jams. It is not needed to control boiling, but can be useful when cooling the wort. Simply attach to the brew kettle and you're done. I tested it on an instant read digital thermometer and it was correct, at least when reading whole degrees.

Broke a day after closing the rear window

I think it was very cheaply made - it worked briefly and then stopped. It works enough to make you think it works. I used it to pasteurize milk so I had to pour out a bunch of milk I thought was pasteurized as soon as I realized the thermometer wasn't working :( Don't waste money on this. I ended up having a lot more spent get a decent quality digital thermometer anywhere other than Revain and now I feel a lot better about the safety of my food I highly recommend passing this thermometer on as…

Much better than the meat thermometers I've used before

Great thermometer - seems accurate and accurate. It snaps easily into the rim of my saucepan and tilts the tip toward the center. I had a bit of fog in the dial when I covered the pot and thermometer with foil, but it dried quickly and was never unreadable. It was much easier to use than the meat thermometers I'd used before and gave more consistent readings. I got much better extraction during mashing in this batch than previous batches and I attribute this to being able to get the…

It used to work great but broke right away

I used it once and it worked almost perfectly. Displayed temperature to the nearest degree or two and the reading was quick when placed in already warm or hot water/wort. When I was done with that, I removed it. I took it out for another brew a week or two later and the temp sensor pin fell off and couldn't be reattached. Very disappointed that it wasn't secured properly to prevent falling. I plan on trying to get it back by either pushing it back onto the pin or taking it apart. I can improve…
