I used an oil change pump on a Mercruiser 3.0 inboard outboard engine. This worked well, a bit slower, but saved a lot of potential clutter by doing it in a more traditional way.

Didn't work at all. I bought it to drain the deck on a John Deere mower and it didn't work at all. either poor engineering or poor manufacturing quality control. Absolutely useless.

Viewing reviews on this product can be misleading. Bought this pump based on the reviews. but i finally tried it last night. Everything works, just doesn't work, it took about 10 minutes to get 1 liter out of the engine.

It definitely does what it says on the tin! Works great if you follow the instructions. The hoses are long enough to reach the motor and also lower the drain hose into a jug on the floor. The only issue I had was that the pump vibrates a bit so you can't balance it on the radiator or engine as it vibrates and falls over and splatters oil everywhere. I solved this problem by mounting it on a small piece of 1x8 wood, but be sure to hold it in place before turning it on.

I use this after taking one of my cars to the dealer or mechanic for an oil change. You always overfill the oil pan by at least ½ liter. Now that I've brought the car home and let the engine cool down, I use this puller to set the oil level to the correct level on the dipstick. I simply stick the thin hose into the dipstick tube and the thicker hose into a container (usually an empty clear gallon jug), turn on the pump and voila! The oil level is now at the correct mark on the dipstick.
