HONEYWELL Intrusion 5800PIR-RES WIRLESS PIR, Residential

One of them is already installed, we only need one more for our hallway. They work great, the corridor is 45 feet long and the sensor detects movement at that distance!

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • The list will go on.

Easy to install on motion sensors

Works very well. I had one in my apartment before I needed another. It's really easy to install and add to an existing or new security system. They last quite a long time, they are batteries so you don't have to keep checking them.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Almost never

Good PIR Motion Detectors

There are two more of these to complement our Honeywell 5100 Series Whole Home Alarm System. They easily attach to the base unit, and the 80-pound weight exception is probably accurate. Top Tip: You can mount them to a corner wall with a few dabs of clear silicone caulk, no screws, great hold, easy to remove.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Base Required

Not working as no motion is detected

Honeywell 5800 PIR RF Motion Detector. Couldn't get this to work, I plugged in the battery, plugged it into my Honeywell 20p panel, it worked great for the walk test, but when the walk test was over and motion returned to normal, the alarm wouldn't go off. Also on the stairs there is nothing to wave. So I sent it back, got another one.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

Great price and perfectly in sync with the included ADT L7000

Great price and perfectly in sync with the included ADT L7000. No need to call them, and you can install them yourself if you don't have Pulse. In this case, you have to add sensors manually in order for them to appear in the app. However, the home unit recognizes them perfectly, and you can avoid additional installation costs by doing it yourself. Pretty simple and worked the first time.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • So-so

Suitable for non-pet or self-monitoring applications

This is my go-to wireless PIR motion sensor when using 2Gig or Honeywell alarm systems. It has a good detection range, good battery life and a high-quality detector. It lacks pet immunity as my cats run it quite often, so it's better suited for non-pet applications, self-monitoring systems, or in conjunction with surveillance cameras. Yes, this particular step is fairly simple but effective and I have installed many of them with confidence.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Good but not great

Great product but use with care

This is a very valuable part of any security system. I recommend having this professionally installed. This requires programming in the main control panel. Incorrect programming can result in false alarms or no response at all. You don't want your alarm clock going off in the middle of the night to find someone with a gun in your living room. They want to stop them at the perimeter. Motion detectors do not replace a properly installed perimeter security system.

Pros
  • Mounting height 7-9 feet
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Suitable for non-pet or self-monitoring applications

This is my choice for wireless PIR movement when using 2Gig or Honeywell alarm systems. It has a good detection range, good battery life and a high-quality detector. It lacks pet immunity as my cats run it quite often, so it's better suited to either pet-free applications, self-monitoring systems, or in combination with security cameras. Yes, this particular step is fairly simple but effective and I have installed many of them with confidence.

Pros
  • PCB does not need to be removed for wall mounting
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

Great product but beware of large pets

Works very well and I'm glad these motion detectors are doing their intended job in my home. Setup/Installation was easy and straightforward. The myriad additions to the Honeywell system made me choose self-control and peace of mind. I have two 70 pound dogs that always follow each other around my house. I was concerned that if they both entered a room with a motion sensor, their combined height and weight would trigger the sensor and set off a false alarm. Of course they did, but to my…
