We didn't buy these for kayaks but to attach our sons darts to the roof. Works perfect! Easy to assemble, easy to install. It took my husband a few minutes to install both and I had no problems with interstate travel.

I used these boat racks a lot last summer. They are a very good product, especially for the price. They were easy to install and came with all the necessary parts to fit almost any roof rack. They are sturdy and I was able to carry my kayak with confidence. I definitely recommend them.

Cheap thought I could get away with it. Cheap plastic with locking teeth, works well but not sure for how long, plus lots of adjustable positions. The roof rack bolts are too long, I had to cut off one side to avoid scratching the paint on my Toyota Rav's roof. Save money, buy quality

Very cheap and easy to assemble. I've ridden kayaks once and they worked perfectly. I will say they should have worked with all shapes of crossbars but the bottom bracket didn't quite fit the way I would have liked. They still work, it just doesn't seem optimal. I was a bit small too, but I just picked up another one from Home Depot. For the price it's amazing, REI would put us in a savings account.

Once assembled these J hooks are great! They appear to be well designed and the pieces fit together well. However, the "instructions" were nothing more than a "tearable" version of the J hook with arrows and letters matching the parts list, which was fine, but it looked like there were parts on the Circuit diagram not on the goods schematic. box, and I never figured out where the rubber strips were supposed to go.
