Basically fine. Choose carefully based on your application.

Tool OK, but only OK. If you've been working with fuel from a contaminated source this can be a good tool, but with a generally clean fuel you just have to be very careful as it has a few downsides. The mechanism for separating the water is simply to have a well that is deeper than required to drain it. As a result, the water settles to the bottom and must be drained. If your fuel doesn't have water in it, there will be about 1/4 pint of gas left in the well that will also need to be drained or

It seems to work BUT.

So I had a truck with a leaking tank and thought I could use it to get rid of any water that might have gotten into the tank and save gas for my lawnmower ride. Well I emptied the tank and put it through the filter and it caught some of the water in the gas just in case I should run it again but there was nothing left the second time around and I decided that i could go I filled up the lawnmower, maybe 1/4 tank, and off we went. Gets big chunks but not sure about water

I actually returned this particular item and repurchased an identical item from a local seller. "Test" out of the box - fill 1/3 with water. According to the instructions, water should not flow (which is what their advertisement says). I've been using this for a while, pumping "old" gasoline from my generator back into a container for reuse in my cars. I didn't want dirt in the tanks contaminating my jugs or the car's tank.
