Great solution for an active sump

My Zoeller pumps with built in float switches explode about every 6 months when using my very active sump. I needed a solution to increase the pump time/depth without relying on a mechanical switch. I bypassed the float on the pump and plugged in the HydroCheck. I went from pumping from 6 inches to 14 inches by reducing the number of cycles on my pump. I wish I had bought this many years ago.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Good but not perfect

I wish I had bought

My sump is too shallow to raise the pump float high enough to start the pump before a few inches of water hits the partially completed basement. The house is 50 years old and I've been here for 2 years. The hole has cement from the foundation so I figured I would have to widen the hole to the middle of the basement to dig deep enough, but then I discovered this product. I can put the gauges low enough/deep enough on the pipe for the pump to operate at the ideal level. I tested it last night and

Great product and made in America!

I installed this unit to control a small drain pan drain pump in a commercial ice machine and it is an amazing product. I've been messing around with crappy condensate pumps with solenoid float valves and it kept giving me problems so I ditched the float valve and hooked up a HydroCheck switch to control the pump and never looked back! The pump started dying and the alarm on the HydroCheck alerted me so I could replace the pump before another disaster happened. I made the mistake of installing…

Best Submersible Pump Controller On The Market

When my submersible pump's float switch failed two years ago and I encountered about 3 inches of standing water in my basement, I decided to look for a reliable alternative to the old, fail-safe, vulnerable mechanical switches .After a long search on the Internet, this control turned out to be the most reliable and affordable electronic drain pump control. I bought it two winters ago and installed it, and it has worked flawlessly ever since. Installation couldn't be simpler (just read and…

  • Confident

  • Only available in white

We have a high water level next to a large lake. Whoever installed the sump pump placed it at a level where the water level in the lake was high enough to turn the pump on every 7 minutes. Some people said you could put a brick under the pump, but that would mean taking the PVC pipes to new heights. Then I read reviews of this product on Revain. You can use it to set both high and "empty" water levels. Once both marks are under the same water, the sump pump will turn on until the water reaches…

Saved me from watching the pump all night.

My foundation drain failed in the winter. In the winter I couldn't dig up the front yard to fix it. We've also had many days where it rained instead of snowing and then froze again. My drains in the basement were leaking water because there was nowhere else for it to drain. Once I figured out what was going on I took the transfer pump, attached a PEX inlet pipe to it and lowered it into the floor drain. When it rained, I started the pump manually. The problem was that the pump I had pumped out…

best switch you can get for active submersible pumps

The best submersible pump switch on the market. If you have an active drain pump in the area during rainy seasons or when groundwater levels are high like mine, this is the answer. You can adjust the on/off position according to your taste or need, change it according to the season, snowmelt, amount of rain, etc. A fixed mechanical switch does not have the flexibility and reliability of this switch. I have a fairly wide cast in my hole - the distance between on and off is about 8 inches when…

The huge power supply is annoying, but works great!

I have two primary pumps in my sump. Each according to its own scheme and with its own category. I have an automatic power generator for the whole house, so I don't have to worry about wasting electricity. What bothered me were defective and overloaded pumps. A few years ago I had 2x 1/3hp pumps that ran at 100% all day and ended up overloading. The basement is flooded. One of the pumps was installed when the house was built and I installed the other when I moved in. I figured the…
