Do not buy!: Sport

Very difficult to assemble. It took 3 very techy people to put it together. But the worst was yet to come: the thing wobbled like crazy. I've put plastic spacers in all sorts of places but to no avail. Best of all, if someone starts opening the back door, all you have to do is shake the steering wheel ever so slightly. The thing acts like it's about to fall, and they immediately step back.

Hyperax Bike Rack 2BKHPR - Locking feature not working

Hyperax Dual Bike Rack works fine except for the 'locking hooks'. If you can block them, they will be difficult or impossible to unblock. Other times, you can't block them at all. I had to leave one of the "locking hooks" locked and remove the bike around it. I tried to contact Hyperax but couldn't find any reliable contact other than Revain. Write this review to make others aware of the issues.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Doubtful

This is a good bike mount. There are a few details that could be better. The locking pins must be replaced with stronger ones if a long journey is imminent. Otherwise, if you only use it locally, you will find that it is an acceptable item to carry 2 heavy e-bikes. It's only been a few months so I'll update you but I hope this gives you a five star review. I'm glad we got this for our expensive e-bikes.

  • Free for educational purposes
Cons

Excellent purchase! best in trunk, transport and storage

I have waited months to review the Hyperax hitch carrier to see the performance and am very happy with my purchase. I use it at least once a week and drive about 20 miles on the freeway with no problems. The trunk protected my bike. I followed some of the recommendations from other reviews, e.g. B. tightened all the screws and everything stayed in place. I love how easy it is to load the bike whether it's on the inside or outside rack, that you can lock your bike for security and attach theโ€ฆ

Great specs, still flimsy

I love that this rack has a car trailer lock and bike lock on the rack. Bike tire straps are just velcro not attached to the bar, they could be better quality. The feature that allows bikes to lean away from the car to open the trunk is also why the bike rocks back and forth on the rack while riding. The hitch is solid so there's really no way to keep the bike from rocking on the rack axle, causing the hitch connection to loosen over time. The quality could be better, but the price is ok.

Seemed wobbly until I tightened the hinge screw

I am very happy with how this stand locks into place. The padded hooks with locks holding the bikes are great. At first I didn't like how the bar wobbled from side to side. Then I re-tightened the screw holding the post, the one on the lower back side. Now he's much better, less staggering. Also a word of warning, the instructions state that you must screw small triangular shaped clips to the bottom ends of the two arms before attaching the bike mounts to the arms. You can not do it.
