I wear them in cold weather and pull them over the hem of my neoprene pants when kayaking. Decent warmth, thickness still allows me to wear water shoes and 100% waterproof as advertised. These socks are well made and durable, but far from waterproof. I have used these socks for protection and warmth when rebooting and paddling my boat. I had to walk through shallow water to get to the sink, and although my feet were warm, my socks and skin got wet.
