Not to the knee, but to the middle of the calf

My feet get cold at home in winter too, so I usually wear wool socks in 2 or 3 layers. These are definitely men's socks, but that's ok, they can easily slip over a pair of other socks. I wear them over other socks for a few days, they are roomy and warm. No complaints other than they really don't come down to the knee. Haven't washed it yet so can't comment on shrinkage.

Pros
  • Sports socks
Cons
  • Long delivery

NOT worth your money!

In winter I spend a lot of time outdoors and need socks to keep my feet warm. They are NOT doing the job. They can be worn indoors but not outdoors. Since I've had them, I've worn them in my boots a few times to run a few errands. My feet got cold riding in the truck with the heater on! I can keep my feet warm by wearing 2 pairs of athletic socks. I will not buy this product again and will tell my friends and family not to waste money on it either.

Best Socks I Ever Had

When I was a kid in Minnesota, I got frostbite on my feet and permanent nerve damage in my toes. I'm 67 and my legs hurt, tight socks hurt. I wear sandals and slippers, the shoes are so sore and my frye boots are impossible to wear. These are the softest, thickest, warmest, most comfortable socks I've ever owned. I feel like I can only walk in the snow with socks. They are roomy enough, I wear a size 10. Can't say enough. I've had them on my feet for less than two hours and just ordered another

I work all day in the freezer

I have been working in the freezer for 20 years. I tried everything to keep my feet warm. I have a clear plan for each day. I wear size 11 shoes. So I buy size 13 PAC boots from Cabelas. and put the hand warmers in the toe of my boot, then I put on the high insole and then these awesome thick socks. If I'm not feeling well or I'm very cold, I keep sticky toe warmers handy as a supplement. Wool socks are the best for warmth, they are the best I've found. I have 6 pairs now and I swear by them…

Very thick, good quality but loose. No hiking sock.

I wear men's shoes in size 10-1/2. My feet are medium wide. I ordered the big ones. This is just a first impression rating based on fit and feel as I have not used them in extremely cold conditions. These socks are very thick. The thickest wool socks I've ever seen. I'm sure they will be very warm. However, if you need a sock that fits in your hiking boots, unless your boots are too big, look elsewhere. My winter hiking boots, which fit perfectly with a pair of merino wool socks, are TOO TIGHT…
