When I got the square the head didn't slip on the ruler.

I didn't like the fact that I had to disassemble and file the picks to make them slide on the ruler. After doing this it seems correct. It's a great price, but you may need some work to get it where you want it.

Pros
  • Handy piece
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Dueling squares are what you need. Use both ends.

Duel fields where they are. Use both ends for so many situations. I started with a trisquare 41 years ago and it's only limited by the size of the crack, yuk can do it without a square too. The base itself is an indicator. I installed the base at a 12 inch stair garage sale and have the original tool to use anywhere on the job.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • Discontinued model

OK for the price. - Measuring and marking tools

All right. Not quite square, but pretty close. The casting is pretty rough and the color is a joke. The screw works well, feels a bit rough but looks solid, all parts of the screw are steel. The sides of the square aren't machine cut, they're hand finished, so they're not perfectly flat, but they're pretty close. The line is pretty good, much prettier than the rest. Close enough for a carpenter or welder. Not quite suitable for the driver. For $22 it's worth it.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Not as good as hoped

Not as good as hoped. The steel ruler graduations were legible and appear accurate for woodworking. The square is accurate when I compare it to known 90 degree angles. My biggest issue was with the roughness of the setup. I had trouble adjusting the ruler's lock and moving the ruler to a new position with one hand, presumably due to the roughness. Tried oil, didn't help. I hesitate to flatten the rule because it's the matte finish that makes the numbers so legible. I hope that the operation…

After disassembly and a good soak in spirit to remove the dirt.

It didn't work well right out of the box. After disassembling it and giving it a vigorous dip in spirits to cleanse it of the foul oil, sanding the edges with jewelry files and re-greasing the moving parts, it's now singing. Accurate and easy to set up after the "treatment" I gave. Don't know where it was made, not tagged, I'm guessing China, due to a clear lack of quality control. I highly recommend this tool. It's not a Starrett, but for my purposes it works just as well for a lot less money!

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Protection

Great value for this handy square.

I'm an amateur carpenter and I needed a fairly accurate contra-angle to add to my collection. This guy is just right. I've looked at some of the other ranges in this category, the best aircraft quality aluminum machines and I couldn't justify the cost considering I'm not a professional carpenter or joiner. The build quality is good and I find it very accurate. I use it several times a week to make sure some of the projects I'm working on are the right ones. I keep it in my apron pocket and have

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine

Useful but rather poor.

Definitely get what you pay for. The one I received needed some serious deburring to make it slide. The groove on the ruler was not cleaned before the satin chrome was applied, so you'll need to remove that inner groove if you want it to slide properly. Not upset and sharp enough on all edges of the base to cut. The slot in the base is rather inferior. not a square cut so the blade sits a bit wobbly and it looks like they ran the rip saw off center a few times before deciding it was "centered"…

Pros
  • Multiple competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

Best value measuring and marking tool

I have long put off buying a small combo and/or double square of relative quality and decided to try a cheap 6 inch Imperium combo and set you know where. which frankly served me well for what was paid for. and when I finally pulled the trigger of iGagings dual 6" I have no idea what took so long. The mechanism seems a bit stiff on first use but I'm sure after a little waxing and breaking in will be fine. but more importantly the product arrived smoothly and the scale is easy to read and…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Well done square but the markings are a little hard to see.

This square is better made than the adjustable model I currently own. I haven't tested its accuracy, but the fit of the ruler in the hand (where the bubble level sits) seems snug and there is very little "play". I just got it so I haven't used it much, but I'm giving it 4 stars (instead of 5) because although the markings (gradations) are engraved, the contrast of the engraved lines with the ruler makes it a bit difficult to read. (I also want the ruler to be about an inch longer - which shifts

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs
