No frills, does the job

I was looking for a quality DVD player - no special requirements were made. Haven't used it for a long time, but it still works. I'm not giving it 5 stars because of the remote control. The buttons on the remote control are very small and all have the same shape. My eyesight is better than 20/20 and I still need good lighting and look very closely to read the keys.

Great little DVD player

I was looking for a DVD player with slow motion and zoom because Blu-ray players don't have those features. This device turned out to be the best option at a reasonable price. It is also small and takes up little space. This is HDMI output and upconversion for better resolution. I like it so much that I bought a second one as a backup for the future. I saw another review about a small remote control. Yes, it is, but you get the point, and it's actually nice to be small given that it's…

Good device for the price

I've only had a chance to use it a couple of times but it does exactly what I need it to do. DVD playback. I've noticed that others have complained about the remote control. I personally don't have a problem with that, it's your main remote. I set up the player and was up and running within 5 minutes of taking it out of the box. The only thing that strikes me as odd is the timer on the front of the device. It only goes to 60 minutes and then starts counting from zero again. what to do with it…

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY

Does the job but for some reason leaves a weird static look on all my DVDs. It's like the connection is bad, but I've tried different ports and nothing changes. I suspect the patch cords on mine were just poorly made or something. It still works well, just annoying seeing the lines on the screen. UPDATE: This is terrible. It behaves like it wants to play discs but keeps skipping or stopping when the disc is ok! Very annoying, I've had it for less than 3 months and have already had to buy a new…

I would buy it again! - TV and Video

Easy to connect. Our Smart TV recognized it even if it wasn't on the favorites list. That means it can be found and you don't have to spend mega-dollars on it and still be able to play anything but Blue Ray. You can even connect a flash drive to view your saved images. It's 1/4 the size of our old one and can do more, all for $35. For that price, you can easily replace it if it fails or becomes obsolete after a year. No HDMI cable is supplied, so make sure you have one. Many smart TVs don't…

Very fragile. for DVD players and recorders

I never realized how weak modern DVD players are. This device is so light that you have to hold it while you press one of the buttons on the front or it will slip off you. The remote control is so tiny that it's very difficult to see what the buttons are doing. The pressure on the remote is such that it doesn't look like it will last very long. The warranty is a bit low as parts are covered by a one-year warranty, but labor is only 90 days (and you have to pay shipping to get it there). In my…

Doesn't play video via USB port

This is a good DVD/CD player. But I'm disappointed because the USB port doesn't play video format. I've tried MEPG, AVI, MP4, FLV, none of them can be played on this computer. I spoke to their support team. The USB port only reads pictures (jpeg) or music. I don't understand why build a video machine and then add a USB port that doesn't read video. It has a good image when I used store bought DVDs. It just doesn't read the ones I created on my computer. Also, the remote control has a complex…

Great dvd player and easy to set up

Good dvd player with small size, haven't had it for a long time but so far I'm very happy with this dvd player. It took 3 to 5 minutes to set up and play my first DVD. The remote control was very easy to use and understand and was very responsive to button presses. I haven't used the USB port yet. Now the USB port is used and it works fine. You must have MPEG2 videos to play them. Before turning on the DVD player, insert the flash drive into the USB port, then turn on the player, press and hold

Best Value for Playing Non-US DVDs on US TVs!

I bought an Impecca DVHP9117 DVD player for one reason: I needed to play UK DVDs (Region 2, European discs in PAL format) on my US (NTSC) home TV. For that purpose, this little player is the absolute best buy. It automatically recognizes and plays NTSC and PAL format discs and can output NTSC and PAL signals to TV. (It defaults to NTSC output, so no setup is needed for US users.) It's also a "Region 0" player, meaning it can play discs from anywhere in the world, even if they're encoded for it…
