replaced a gas strut on my ladder rack. It was difficult to compress the shock two inches to fit my needs, but it's done now and I'm happy with the product.

The description of the shock absorbers says that they can be used for a tool box. You are so right. Great for my tool box. I have a large build box and need a new pair for the open top. Perfectly supports the weight of the lid and keeps the lid of the box open and easy to close. The ends fit snugly in the holder and are the right size.
