No leftover residue!

Bought this to replace another amazon brand for woodworking templates. My old tape would come apart (delaminate) and was a pain to remove all of the residue. This tape fixed this issue. Will use going forward.

Pros
  • This tape eliminates the need for clamps, saving you time and effort
Cons
  • Can break down over time in the presence of certain solvents

Won't trust it for CNC work

Attached a test piece to my CNC waste board. Was a very squishy connection. The hold allowed the piece to wiggle, and it wouldn't adhere to the particle board waste board very well.Would not trust it to hold work on my CNC.

Pros
  • Quality product. Good adhesive and not too hard to remove. Have used on numerous projects.
Cons
  • Takes a long time to cure fully

Sticky but releases clean.

Great double sided tape for wood working tasks especially where temporary bonding two pieces together then looking for clean removal - no adhesive residue.

Pros
  • It is ideal for use in woodworking and crafting applications
Cons
  • Can be difficult to see on some types of wood

Great product on my review.

Can’t say enough about this product. I use a lot of templates this tape grips tight, removes with ease, and leave no residue

Pros
  • Adhesive Tapes
Cons
  • Can cause wood fibers to tear or pull out

Super sticky - my new review

I used this tape to install heavy clear plastic on 12 screened windows on our sun porch. Worked great and made the job so much easier. Thanks for a great product

Pros
  • Great for wood template routing.
Cons
  • Not suitable for outdoor use

Really good -tinyyy bit of residue

Like it, plenty of adhesion. Easy to put on and not hard to take off either. Only thing is that there is a tiny (and I mean tiny) bit of left over adhesive residue on some materials. No big deal for my application, but it's worth bringing up.Recommended for sure.

Pros
  • Dose what you need
Cons
  • Not recommended for use in extreme temperatures

Easy to apply and WORKS

This, in my limited experience (I am not a professional) is a great value. I bought it to do a project that requires multiple passes of pattern routing with different bits. The job requires taking the pattern off and putting it back on multiple times. It's hard to get the pattern off, which is good, and I have found that I can reuse the same tape on the pice multiple times if I just keep the workpiece out of the way of wood chips. There is no movement of the pattern on the workpiece as far as I

Pros
  • Works exceptional.
Cons
  • Could damage delicate surfaces if applied too aggressively

Works good and easy to remove

I received this template tape and used it on some 1/4” mdf to transfer a template to another 1/4” mdf piece and cut with my router. Worked great. I wiped the dust of my pieces and taped 3 strips of 5” on the piece and it held really well. I think I used more than needed. Then trying to peak the pieces apart was easy using a putty knife. The tape removed easily and clean.I liked using this tape. I will shop around for value but so far this is the best bang for buck I’ve found.

Pros
  • The tape is easy to apply and remove, reducing the risk of mistakes
Cons
  • Can be difficult to remove once it has cured

May be improperly described

Really a very good tape for woodworking. However, it didn't work well for me a a turner's tape. The descriptor references turning, but upon closer look, the packaging doesn't. I'm happy to use it for general double sided woodworking needs, but am trying another product for my woodturning needs.

Pros
  • This tape provides a fast and efficient way to hold materials in place
Cons
  • May not have a consistent level of adhesive strength across the roll

Great tape good for me

I planned on using this tape initially for creating woodworking jigs & holding joints before gluing, as well as cutting out templates. While it does work very well for those purposes, I've also found several other uses for it as well which now has me thinking - what would I have done before ?It's really great stuff and handy to have around - the number of application for simple & low-profile double sided tape around the house and workshop are practically unlimited. Once you've used it, you…

Pros
  • Good tape but adhesive could be a bit better
Cons
  • Can be difficult to handle on small projects

Works great - my new review

This is the best double sided tape I've used . Holds firmly and peels off without leaving a sticky surface . Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • This tape is incredibly versatile, adapting to many different applications and materials
Cons
  • Not recommended for use on surfaces with intricate designs or details

Hands down the best double-sided tape for woodworking

I use this tape religiously as a amateur luthier for template work. I aslo this tape for CNC work professionaly as cabinetmaker. Hands-down, you can't get anything better than XFasten.

Pros
  • DIY temp;ates
Cons
  • Adhesion may weaken over time

Holds well; removes cleanly

I use this tape to hold wood in place for CNC routing. Being new to CNC routing, I've learned how important (and sometimes challenging) proper hold-downs can be. I'm very pleased to report that I've not yet had a piece held by this tape come loose. The inevitable downside is that removing the machined part from the CNC bed requires some work with the putty knife followed by peeling the tape from whichever surface it stayed on. That said, it can be rolled cleanly from that surface and leaves no…

Pros
  • It is incredibly strong and durable, providing a reliable hold
Cons
  • Adhesion may be weakened by exposure to moisture

Stuck on This Tape on my review.

This is a great product. I used to hold down templates for routing. Product I was using left sticky residue that had to be remved with Goo be Gone. This tape cuts easily.is easy to separate and leaves virtually no residue. Don't hesitate to buy.

Pros
  • The tape is heat-resistant, making it suitable for use with power tools
Cons
  • May not work well with all types of clamps

Great stuff in my review

I have used this for routering templates and it has yet to disappoint. Great value, sticks well yet is easy enough to remove, nice and thin so there’s not too much of a deviation dealing with angled cuts. Will definitely buy again

Pros
  • It is perfect for use in challenging applications, such as turning wood on a lathe
Cons
  • Can be difficult to apply to curved or irregular surfaces

Perfect for wood working

I used this to make a template for a wood working project. It's very sticky but will come off when it gets pulled off. Don't except this to come off paper though!

Pros
  • It only takes small pieces of tape at each end of the board to get a solid bond. Very economical.
Cons
  • Leaves residue on surfaces when removed

Good sticky tape, but I don't like it for most of my work

I typically use SpecTape double sided "pattern" tape, but ran short. ordered this wanting to give it a try.Pros:Good sticky stuff.3 pack,Good price.Cons:I really don't like using it,The paper backing comes off "too" easy at times,Doesn't always remove cleanly. This isn't my "go-to" pattern or template tape, and I've purchased more of the SpecTape since trying this.I have found a use for the Xfasten double sided tape however and it fits in with my overall process.I just use it for less precise…

Pros
  • It works as advertised was using carpet tape did not hold turning would fly off
Cons
  • Limited shelf life

Great for CNC and templating.

I've been using Spectape ST501, which is really good. but I thought I'd give XFasten a try since the price was so much lower and I liked the reviews.I'm so glad I tried this tape. it's tackier than the Spectape which is nice (most of the time) especially for holding MDF. MDF is dusty, I always use a clean, dry rag or paper towel and wipe down the MDF before applying the tape and it works great for my CNC needs where vacuum is just too problematic to use.

Pros
  • REMOVABLE, RESIDUE-FREE, AND SURFACE SAFE. Professional woodworkers try and test this double-sided silicone adhesive for woodworking as effective and safe for their delicate woodworks. It's the perfect double sided tape for woodworking templates.
Cons
  • May not adhere well to surfaces that are too smooth or too rough

Great holding power!

Bought this to secure materials to the bed of a CNC machine. T-track clamps were not enough to keep the materials from lifting. Tapes gripping power exceeded my expectations. You could probably get away with just using the tape! One tip though if using it for this purpose.keep the tape clear of your cutting path if going all the way through! Tape is very gummy and will adhere to your endmills making cleanup a real chore.

Pros
  • Adhesives, Sealants & Lubricants
Cons
  • May not bond well to wood that's been previously treated with certain chemicals

Good for router templates

I had to cut a complex curve on a router table, and it had to be repeatable, so I cut a plywood template first and used that to cut the mahogany. But unless your plywood template is held firmly onto the piece you're cutting, there will be disaster. This tape held the two together well, and it rubbed off cleanly when they had to be separated.

Pros
  • This tape can withstand high levels of stress and tension
Cons
  • May not hold up well under exposure to UV light
