This thing is the real deal so far!

I have had this time in my cart for months but was waiting to see more reviews and for it to go on sale. When it went on sale for Cyber Monday along with a lightening coupon I jumped and got myself a Christmas present. Item arrived two days ago, well packaged and in perfect condition. I used it today to slow cook a chuck roast and it was amazing. I was able to sear the roast, deglaze the pan and then set it all to cook at a precise temperature rather than just fingers crossed on Low, med, or…

Pros
  • It seers, slowcooks, fastcooks, bakes anything ! Everything cooks perfect. So worth the money!
Cons
  • Expensive compared to similar products on the market

Instant Dutch Oven is the new and improved slow cooker.

Because of limitations in my kitchen, I've been using a Crock-Pot slow cooker sanitary exclusively over the last year. To aid in this unexpected pandemic journey, I've accumulated a number of slow cooker cookbooks. Many recipes call for first sautéing on the cooktop. The appeal of this appliance is that sautéing can be done right in the appliance.I've used it twice in the short amount off time I've had it - once to make a glazed ham, and another time for some BBQ chicken legs. I was pleased with

Pros
  • Just bought results are awesome!
Cons
  • Has a small cooking capacity compared to other Dutch ovens

There is a learning curve but so far so good

I've only had this for two days but I thought I would post about my experience so far in case it is helpful to anyone else. I had originally processed a return of this item and just cancelled the return. I was originally going to return it for two reasons: (1) I did not notice the Q&As about lead in the enamel and I was very concerned about this. We are careful about the cookware we use and it didn't occur to me to check for lead/cadmium in the glazing; and (2) I was not able to reach a rolling

Pros
  • The saute function seems very hot and you can not adjust the temperature.
Cons
  • Tends to get very hot, making it challenging to handle when cooking

Great “All-in-One” Appliance

I bought a one that was as labeled as having some cosmetic flaws (scratches) and the box it would arrive in would be damaged. I got a discount for this. The box was in deed damaged but there were no scratches anywhere on the appliance! Good very well and is very easy to clean. The biggest complaint I had with my prior appliance was that it was hard to store. Storing this one is like storing another pot - super easy!

Pros
  • High quality, easy to use, excellent results. So glad I bought it!
Cons
  • May emit a strong odor during initial use

My Favorite Kitchen Appliance.

I have had the actual Instant Pot but hated the steamer, and found the whole thing difficult to use. But that is just me, I know I am in the minority. But when I got this I fell in love with it. It is easy to use and try different things in. I have always used a Dutch Oven for so many meals and even making Artisian Bread in it, so this was something that was just an added bonus in that you can slow cook in it, sauté and cook it with manual settings. I have actually used this more than my Air…

Pros
  • Pulled pork
Cons
  • Requires electricity to operate, limiting its portability

Nice addition to my kitchen appliances

This small appliance has a bit of a learning curve and I had to go to the internet because the user manual is lacking. But there are many things I like about this kitchen tool:1. The saute/sear function. I made a pot roast and it was so nice to sear the meat first and then just throw in the juices and veggies. Turned out perfect. (Sear heats to 400°, so don't throw in your meat and walk away.)2. The slow cooker function heats to 203°. This is just slightly above a normal slow cooker low of…

Pros
  • Dutch Ovens
Cons
  • May require additional accessories for optimal use, increasing the overall cost

Happy so far: my feedback

Got it early December. Made a batch of Beef stew. Came out very nice. Easy to clean. My tagine top fits on so will experiment with a tagine chicken stew using cast iron bottom and tagine top. Hope it works!Addendum: Works perfectly and is my weekly go to for cooking as I cook once a week only. My young adult son now has one too!

Pros
  • The 6-quart capacity of the dutch oven allows for cooking ample amounts of food for your family or guests
Cons
  • Requires a dedicated storage space due to its size and weight

Heavy cast iron good for me

Heavy cast iron insert is nice but rusted the first time I used it. Powder coating didn’t cover the edges. Can’t return since it’s past the return time. Not impressed with that especially for the cost!

Pros
  • It was everything I had hoped for. Only con is that it is heavy
Cons
  • Enamel coating can chip or crack with prolonged use

Better than expected

I was skeptical especially since slow cooking features, temperature, is limited. However slow cooker mode works well and the food was tender and very tasty. Machine easy to clean. I would season the lid edge, but overall a great and versatile machine.

Pros
  • Keep your food warm until ready to eat with the food warmer function
Cons
  • May take longer to cool down after cooking, increasing the risk of burns or injury

Excellent Dutch oven - slow cooker

This combines a cast iron Dutch oven with a slow cooker. It is enamel coated, making it very easy to clean. Instructions could be clearer, but most products don't come with any Instructions these days so. Really a high quality product.

Pros
  • ELECTRIC DUTCH OVEN: Delivering gourmet results right on your countertop.
Cons
  • Limited warranty coverage compared to similar products

Good, not great, as a crockpot replacement

I bought this to replace a crockpot. There are many features that I liked. Being able to brown/saute in the same pan is a definite bonus. The unit is attractive and appears well made. While setting the cooking temps and times isn’t difficult to figure out, I would have preferred two settings for slow cooking, both high and low, and the ability to adjust the warm time. I also don’t care for the cooking pot. It is more difficult to clean than the other ceramic bakeware that I own. Also, I find…

Pros
  • Save time and energy with the 1500W electric power source
Cons
  • Has a learning curve when it comes to using the temperature controls

Does the job! in my review

I love how versatile this thing is. TENDER RESULTS: Matching lid has self-braising grid on underside to keep food evenly moist.. I regularly make Italian beef sandwiches and mojo pork for Cubanos with it!

Pros
  • TENDER RESULTS: Matching lid has self-braising grid on underside to keep food evenly moist.
Cons
  • Lid can be heavy and difficult to remove while cooking

Slow Cooking Function - Disappointing

I bought this product about a year ago and was excited at first. It is excellent to sauté veggies and meats as an initial step. It would be lovely if I could just continue to make one pot meal and switch to slow-cooking during the process. Unfortunately, it is not possible with my pot. When I am making for example, Chili, the entire concoction never gets hot enough during the next 4 hours as it is preset. Everything indicates that the pot only stays warm the entire time. I also tried to cook…

Pros
  • The included lid helps to trap in moisture and flavor for delicious, succulent meals
Cons
  • May emit smoke or fumes during initial use, requiring proper ventilation

Great except even the second meal tastes of enamel paint.

I want to love the ease, quality structure, and well made UI. It’s just after three deep cleanings and two meals prepared in the instant pot slow cooker, the food still faintly tastes of enamel paint. 🙈🤕

Pros
  • LARGE CAPACITY: Cooks up to 6 servings of food, perfect for meal prepping, entertaining and family dinners.
Cons
  • Generally takes up a lot of counter space while in use
