I bled the tank in 1 week

I used dry rock to start my reef tank and needed bacteria to speed up my cycle. This stuff works great. I was able to complete my cycle in about 7 days. Without her it would have taken at least a month. Everything in the aquarium looks and feels happy. I will definitely use this on all my future riffs.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not the best

It really works wonders

I will always use BIO spira when driving in a future marine aquarium. I dosed ammonia during the first fish free cycle in my newly installed 29 gallon saltwater tank after adding Bio-Spira and they responded immediately. My ammonia went to zero in 3 days, within a week nitrite went to zero with a hint of nitrate. I added fish and dosed some Prime to detox the remaining nitrates, although there were almost none. My fish have been happy and healthy for 2 years now.

Pros
  • Long lasting finish
Cons
  • Zero

Read This or Die!: Aquarium Water Treatment

Patience, young grasshopper. I've used this 3 or 4 times. Works like a charm every time. You can put fish in there but I wouldn't recommend it. I fill my tank with RO, feed imaginary fish every day or every other day for a week, dump it all out, ammonia and nitrite are falling, nitrate is pretty low too, but I'm waiting a few days before adding anything. Around day 2 or 3 all 3 drop to almost 0 and then you are assured of your safety. I once heard "when in doubt change the water" that's the…

Works fast and well

These live bacteria work very well to quickly create a colony that can handle ammonia right away. I use it in my seawater quarantine/hospital tanks that don't have the luxury of waiting a week for a cycle. I still monitor my ammonia levels with an alert icon and dose Seachem Prime as needed, but I have found that Bio-Spira works reliably as an effective biological filter. It takes time for the bacteria that convert nitrites to nitrates to develop, but that's not a big deal in salt water…

great product Decided to get 10.

Excellent product. I decided to start a 10 gallon nano reef aquarium. For a long time with Biospira I also bought living sand to speed up the cycle. After creating the rocky landscape and setting up the aquarium the way I wanted it, I poured in Biospira and then sprinkled the aquarium with fish food to feed the bacteria. I bought my two percula clownfish the next day, fast forward a month later and they are still happy and healthy. Just add more Biospira with every water change and keep an eye…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Good results good for aquarium water purification

I have installed 3 aquariums with it so far. I dosed ammonia the first time and to be honest I couldn't tell if it got better or not. In the other two I used 1 fish and a reef hermit. The tanks I rode the fish in were small 7 gallon and 12 gallon live Caribbean rocks. Neither tank ever had an appreciable amount of ammonia or nitrite and nitrates were detected from day 2 in one tank and from day 3 in the other. I will note that my ammonia dosed aquarium had a lot more algae and "worked" a lot…

  • Stylish and modern design

works like a boss in Fish & Aquatic Pets

Short Story: It worked as advertised (mostly: wait 2-3 days, not right away) Long Story(s): Added to reconfigured marine aquarium after one cycle for a week of rocks (Marco rocks, dry started) with lively sandy bottom. Checked every day for a week and the ammonia was fairly constant at 0.5-1ppm. A week later (and before the addition) the ammonia levels were still relatively high (0.5 to 1 ppm), nitrite was just starting to rise but hardly any nitrate (0.25 ppm) was undetectable. Ammonia is…
