Be careful: fish and aquatic animals

When I first got the feeder it worked fine but even when the feeder was fully open little food fell out. I've tried breaking up my cereal to make it smaller to see if that helps, but with no luck. I had to set it up to feed many times a day to make sure my fish were getting enough, but now the feeder will retain moisture causing it to clog and not throw away food and I had to clean it all the time. I ended up removing it and no longer using it.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some little things

Don't waste your money

It's a waste of money but things like battery life and food quality bothered me. NOW I've discovered that you can't set the time without clearing your settings, which happens twice a year in my state due to Daylight Saving Time. The Resun 2009D block is way better for a fraction of the price. I bought two of these from Walmart.com for about $11.50 each, sorry Revane, and after two months it's working fine without any of the issues bothering me.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not happy with everything

This feeder works well when you pause the feed.

This feeder works well when broken into small pieces. I feed it to char, tetras, tetras and plecos in a large tank. I need to crush the algae plates and feed pellets. We use the feeder every day even when we are at home and it works well. The only difficulty is attaching the feeder to the aquarium. The lid of the tank is ribbed and it is difficult, but not impossible, to adjust the feeder firmly and evenly.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Easily adjustable to a variety of widths

Works well with the pellets I feed my Arowana. I bought it specifically for an airtight container, which is critical for humidity here. Batteries are now sufficient for at least 4 weeks of continuous use with 4-5 feedings per day. The clamp is quite normal. Easily adjustable for a variety of widths. In general I am satisfied with them. There are a few things I would have liked better: 1. The clock can only be reset by disconnecting the power source (batteries or AC adapter). I can't find any…

The food will NOT flow as shown in the picture.

I read online reviews before purchasing the unit so I made the purchase assuming I would get an effective fish feeding solution in my absence. I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to write this based on my experience - this device does NOT work. I tested the device after 4 days of absence. The first automatic spin is fine as long as you manually shake the fish feed towards the feed outlet chamber to fill it with feed. Once this happens, the chamber as arranged will not be…

Exceptionally well designed feeder

Not sure if I bought this feeder here or from another ISP. Although that's not the point. I have been using this feeder for three years now. I keep a 100 gallon saltwater aquarium with about 23 inch fish and lots of soft corals. It can be fully autonomous for up to 35 days. We travel a lot. I've tried several feeders but this one is clogged, I suspect because they are hanging over the tank causing the feed to take up too much water. This unit extends and retracts with each feeding. As a result,

Works well so far

I've tried both granules and flakes and it makes a decent amount. This way you can program multiple rotations for each of the 4 feeding periods. With flakes I usually have to flip the feeder 2 or 3 times to get the right amount of food. That's the kind of flexibility this device offers, and it's very nice. Let's see how it holds up over time. I have two issues that lower my rating to 4 stars: 1) The mounting brackets need some machining. I'm using this on a standard 20 gallon tank that has…
