It came straight out of the ground!

My Burmese Mountain Dog pulled this stake right out of the ground. The stake was fixed at the yard as I said but I think the weather softened the ground. My guess is that if I still want to use this in the future I'll probably need to check the soil moisture. But I don't feel very safe.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Don't leave your pet unattended

For the most part it worked. This allows my dog to run around and explore our new yard until we put up a fence. However, when it goes full steam ahead, it literally bursts out of the ground. So for free time outside it's okay, but I always keep an eye on it. Also, we attach it to the shoulder strap, not the collar.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Useless features

Probably the worst dog product I've ever bought

Our little boston terrier was able to use it for about 10 minutes before bending over and letting the leash slide free. I bought this to replace a $13 tie I bought at the pet store. It has lasted 3 years and still works well, just a little rusty. This took 10 minutes. Extremely annoyed. Luckily our dog doesn't run away, but I think this can lead to heart failure if not noticed in time. Avoid this product.

Definitely recommend!

We looked at all types of hooks to keep our dog tethered without pulling him off the ground. That was the best price for such a sturdy part. We have a 60lb Husky/Boxer mix who is very active and loves to run. This product has not moved since it was installed and she is a very strong dog. We are so glad we found this and can keep them outside and (to an extent) walk. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Legacy

Works but designed for cats/small dogs

Considering the price, I think this tie is above average in design, durability and ease of use. Keep in mind that it won't hold a 50+ pound dog pulling with all his might, but if you buy the right tie size for your pet it will perform as you would expect. I found the plastic parts with it to be a little clunky, but compared to other zip ties I found they actually help a little with installing/using.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Expensive

45 lb dog didn't pull him out of the ground

I have a 45 lb dog that will chase a deer for miles if given the chance. This wide base pole combined with steel braided cable worked well when we couldn't keep an eye on it all the time in the garden. We've been using the stake since April 2021 and she has yet to escape or retrieve the stake from the ground. She is not tied up for long, does not get upset or nervous, but this stake prevents her from chasing animals. The mud I live in is soft and a bit gritty. I find the wide base made a huge…

Don't worry about dogs

Don't worry. My husband and I bought this to protect our dogs when we went on a "holiday" to a remote air BNB. We wanted them to be able to walk and stay safe. Well, the thing looked promising, but turned out to be garbage. This damn thing can't even be screwed into the ground. The ground wasn't hard or anything, it just didn't sink more than a few inches into the mud. We ended up having to get the tire lever out of the car to bury it in the ground. And we're almost done. Then he broke. We…

My dog hasn't pulled it out yet!

My dog is Siberian Husky, male 90#. He's a big teddy bear, but he's also strong as a bull. We live outside of town and have other dogs, cats and coyotes running around our property all the time. Since huskies are genetically programmed to run, my dog is at 40 feet. a cable with a spring loaded shock absorber when it's in our yard. So far he's managed to snap 5 or 6 high quality wire harnesses when he hits the end of this wire at breakneck speed. However, he's nowhere near pulled that anchor out

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
