Works well but needs some tweaking.

When you connect a USB audio adapter for the first time, it takes a while for the computer to recognize it (Windows 7). Once that happened I had to go into the control panel, select "Sound" and set the default USB sound adapter which showed up as the speaker icon. Then when you plug it in, it automatically switches from my desktop speakers to the USB audio adapter, and when it's unplugged it goes back to the desktop speakers. In terms of performance, it works very well. The sound/music is very…

Great little adapter solved my problem

I had an old 32-bit MacBook Pro that was pretty much useless on Mac OS. So I installed Boot Camp on an SSD drive and Windows 10. It worked great and now I have a usable laptop again. It will never play games on it, but it's fine for audio editing and casual browsing. But I encountered several driver issues, one of which was the audio driver and I couldn't solve the problem. So I bought a Syba USB Audio Adapter. While I can't use the Mac's built-in speakers, I can connect external speakers and…

10 Stars - Connect and fix your broken audio jack right away!

Update: After two weeks it stopped working. I will try another brand. hope you have better luck The 3.5 headphone jack on my laptop was part of the motherboard along with all the other ports. The cost of fixing my bent, busted, broken (who knows?) headphone jack was to buy another motherboard. 170 dollars. They knew of an element that replaced the digital wave for audiophiles to listen to music with improved performance in their expensive headphones. The cost is $100. It came today. I plugged…

Disappointing, don't buy this if you're using it with a mic.

I bought an external SYBA USB stereo audio adapter for my Antlion ModMic 5 to hopefully eliminate some of the noise generated by my motherboard's microphone port, unfortunately it was a lot worse compared to much louder, clearer hum and much quieter mic feedback. It's cheap and will do if your audio ports are dying, but if you're looking for something to boost the quality of your mic you should probably look elsewhere. The device is also wider than most standard USB devices, allowing it to…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

I bought this device to work with Raspberry Pi2 (900MHz, quad core, latest version ) to use software amateur radio APRS Direwolf V 1.2. I used the SignaLink USB which worked great but cost over $120. This thing costs less than $10, but of course there's nothing in it that can activate PTT (to turn the radio on and off for transmission). SignaLink doesn't have to worry about additional PTT as it's included in the SignaLink box (it actually uses high quality fast VOX, but you pay for the benefits

ModMic owners rejoice! (This is what your looking for!)

So I got some pretty expensive headphones to use for gaming and heard and saw Antlion's ModMic ad. until I recorded a little bit from the mic to see how it sounds. Like absolute garbage. Note that this was due to the microphone on the specific sound card. Nothing is built in here, and yet it sounded terrible. Buzz, buzz, hiss and hiss abound. I was so angry! So I watched some videos and read some forum posts about how a USB sound adapter might solve the problem. I went with another brand which…

Well made, easy (very) to install, works well

I bought this for the output jack after my laptop's audio port broke. I couldn't bear the thought of opening up the laptop and soldering in a new audio jack, so this was the next best option. However, I did not check the microphone jack. Background: I ordered another USB audio adapter from another manufacturer and upon receipt it turned out to be junk. When I tried to return it I found it was disposable. However, when I contacted the seller and explained that the item was defective and got my…
