I can easily perform all the needed calculations in real time on my computer from anywhere around the world. Real-time performance is always what I need, so that's not a concern. The only disadvantage would be that there are no pre-built functions for specific sensors/protocols. If you do not have your own or know someone who does, then it could be tricky to find a compatible product.
