Failed to improve already problematic bit design

I have the correct Irwin bit and this extension is not working properly. Two main complaints. The inner shank had metal burrs that prevented the bit from being inserted and secondly the set screw threads were not straight or long enough to secure the bit. This stretching further exacerbates the problems with the plain shaft racquet.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • In doubt

The shape of the tail is important.

Just doesn't hold a round shank drill securely. Hex shank bits should be fine though. EDIT: Literally useless for round shank bits. This is another "tool" that will be at the bottom of my toolbox until after I die, it's sold for a penny at my estate sale. He will then sit at the bottom of that buyer's toolbox until his property is sold. Well you get the idea. It is passed from generation to generation and will live forever!

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Works well after deburring

Works great after deburring. Like the others I couldn't even get a piece in and once I got it in it took a vise and a hammer to get it out. In my case, the burrs were inside on the opposite side of the threaded holes; They didn't stop tapping until they hit another wall, damaging the rather large hole in the bit shank. 30 seconds. I also have a good disc sander so I flattened my attachment a bit so the screws can't turn it since I had a round shaft attachment. All changes took less time than…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
