Great drill ready to hit.

Often used to prime deck screws so they are straight from the start. The drill has worked very well and is now as sharp as when it was first used. Used this bit to replace one in a set that was hammer drill bit compatible and this bit worked just as well as the original. I've only used it on wood but after installing the 10lb wood screws it's still pretty much pristine, no tarnishing, bent or broken. One day I have to change something, I will look at Irwin bits first.

Pros
  • Twist Drill
Cons
  • Available in black only

Good quality at a reasonable price

We use 7/64 inch bits like crazy, my husband tends to push them too hard when working with hardwood or metal and they break on the shank so it always seems what I buy more We made the cheap Harbor Freight versions but the Irwin brand isn't much more expensive and will hold a sharp point longer than the cheaper ones. They also seem to have better breaking strength...even if my husband uses them now, if I could teach him to apply a little less pressure I wouldn't buy them as often!

Pros
  • Power tool parts and accessories
Cons
  • No automatic

Finally a LONG enough hex shank bit

I have a couple of hex shank bits from other manufacturers this size and they are all quite short. With a drill with a drill chuck, I often had to use a conventional round drill simply because the hexagon was not long enough. To date, IRWIN is the only manufacturer to make these drills without sacrificing length and drill bit. Bits are 1/2" to 3/4" longer than similar sized bits from other brands. At first I bought this size (7/64 inch) but soon I bought a whole set of 12 pieces in different…

Pros
  • Jobber bit
Cons
  • No instructions
