Great Value

Does exactly what it should. My example is well built to tight tolerances and has very little movement; nothing that detracts from the usefulness.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Good build quality!

Good tracking/stability Arca Swiss mount top and bottom can't beat this price great for manual focus.,. Motif and macro/micro photography. I wanted to add automatic functionality with a stepper motor and driver/app and the mechanics are complete with limited cost and effort! , as good as WeMacro for less than half the price!

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Crumpled

not accurate - 1/4 turn play

The main problem besides the excessive weight is the lack of accuracy - about a quarter turn play. So if you need to adjust the correct position by moving the direction of movement forward and backward, the handle needs to be rotated about 90 degrees before the moving part changes position. Alternatively, I use Swebo LS-18 (4 mm/rev, approx. 1/8 turn play) and LS-001 (1 mm/rev, 1/100 turn play).

Absolutely normal. Free when not locked.

Disclosure: I'm not a macro expert. I bought this to help with fine focusing when scanning negatives with my a7Rii and Nikkor 55mm AI mic with extension tube. Works fine for my purposes. It has a solid construction and I like the clutch to get a lot of movement. The only downside I'd like to mention is that the platter has good panning play when you unlock it to fine-tune focus. If you're looking for extreme percussion, this might be a hurdle for you. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the…

Safe, precise movement.

Good workmanship. The screw drive surface is smooth, free from burrs or rough edges often found on poorly machined workpieces. The rotation of the screw drive is a bit stiff at first, but it gets better with time. A drop or two of WD-40 on the surface of the screws and where the handles of the screws touch the case improved this movement. I saw another review that complained about needing a release mechanism that would allow for large adjustments without turning the knobs. It has a clutch, it's

Looks good but my example lacked precision :-(

I was looking for a "precise" macro focus rod and this was the second product I tried. It looked great and was well rated at the time my purchases were very positive so I decided to try it Unfortunately after the first 10 minutes of testing I found it totally useless for precise movements the grip which by the way is too tight when I tried to take a series of shots with a 5 format Focus Stack: 1 This spread changes the composition to ridiculous, about 1/4 of the entire frame It is fitted with a

Great macro focus guide for the price.

The iShoot Macro Focus Guide is very well made and great value for money. It is made of high quality materials that have undergone precise processing. The mechanism has very little play, which is very important when shooting macro. The rail uses a worm drive design, which allows you to precisely adjust the distance of the lens from the object. Even with a heavy lens on the camera (Canon MP-E 65 on an 80D body) I did not experience any slipping downhill when tilting the lens down - presumably…
