Great support! Good product!

Does exactly what you need to broadcast on Facebook. Easy to set up once you know how! The only downside is that your audio source MUST go through your HDMI source. This was a problem for us due to our camera. I would recommend this to anyone who just wants to use a camera with built in audio.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

A little temperamental in Video Converters

Good sound and picture quality, but moody. Sometimes you need to reset it multiple times or switch between streaming key and backup key to cast it on FB. Sometimes it connects instantly. Should depend on moon phase or stock market situation. Your guess is as good as mine. But I would buy it again.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Out of fashion

IT knowledge is required for use.

I bought this to stream a church service on YouTube (the church computer didn't have the CPU to do everything I needed to do at the same time). The default IP address disabled my Wi-Fi connection and in short it was necessary to change the IP address to re-enable Wi-Fi. I did not contact support for help, but you need network configuration knowledge if you want to purchase this product. (FYI, use Internet Explorer when entering the IP address)

  • Durable Test Results

Not enough info on setup and usability but fair price

cannot start or stop sending/encoding signals. Some streaming services rely on the encoder to tell the service that streaming has 'started', but when this device is connected it sends a signal all the time, which caused some telemetry issues. As long as I only plug the device in when I want to send a signal and then unplug it when I want the stream to end, it works correctly. Just wanted to warn everyone else as it's not obvious when researching/buying.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • No automatic encoder

Excellent picture and sound quality, not easy to set up.

It was pretty easy to connect to my network right away and change the encoder settings, which was easy. But when it came time to send the tape to a streaming service, things got more complicated. You must have basic IT skills to use this device. The stream itself looks amazing! However, setting up routers, subnet masks, and IP addresses to work together was no easy task. After an hour on the phone with Sal from j tech support we were able to get it up and running with no issues. I cannot thank…

Great device. Highly recommended!

I have 4 Revain FireTV sticks. Each is connected to a Goronya HDMI 4X1 Quad Multi-Viewer and decoded by a J-Tech Digital H.264 encoder that puts the streams onto the network. SiliconDust duo HDHomerun offer OTA TV via the FireTV app. I use VLC as my video streaming software. This allows you to simultaneously watch 4 streams anywhere in the network on any (and multiple) devices at the same time. It also allows me to stream the same streams to monitors that aren't connected to a PC or other…

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Some imperfections

2 errors but does the job, awkward start/stop thread.

Update 04/30:. There are a few bugs. 1: You cannot stream over 4500 kbps with HLS, the device keeps rebooting and resetting the system time after about a minute. 2. The "Synchronize with system time" function does not work. It changes the time but then restarts and then returns to factory time in 2018. These are not major issues, but they should be noted. J Tech is said to be investigating it, but I have a feeling it probably won't be resolved. This device is near perfect. Setup is very easy…

Poor encoding performance

This is the fifth HDMI encoder I've tried in my endless quest to improve the quality of my video archives. Unfortunately, he has not fulfilled his potential. The first thing I did was see if it could capture 1080i@60hz video from my set top box. It works, but only encodes the stream at 30fps like a legacy 30fps HDMI encoder would. This leads to a slight stuttering effect, which is particularly noticeable in long panning scenes and news/stock tickers. I'm starting to think that no encoder from…
