Works great, has everything you need to swap out cables and cases.

Used to replace multiple sets of shifter cables and housings. you are doing great work Clamping the end caps is a little trickier, any pliers can be used for this. However, you have everything, a cutter (you can adjust the width of the cutter opening so it doesn't open so wide when you're just cutting cables or opening wider cutter bodies), tools to change the shape of the body (you can out of the round and/or insert a pointed object into the handle) and crimp the end cap.

Good tool, very well made

Good tool, very well made. Effortlessly cuts through cable sleeves and cables. However, small burrs are left when the case is cut, and a built-in awl helps with easy reshaping and cleaning. I had a utility knife handy to scrape the extra plastic burrs off the case. The nature of the beast I think. Definitely way better than my old rusty side cuts. It also does a good job when crimping ferrules. I still think it's a bit overpriced, I would give it 5 stars if it was between $15-$18.

Easily cuts housing and wires. A couple of my cases were too small.

If you want to work on your bike with cables, buy this. You will not regret it. My cheap wire cutters that I use for stereo cables and stuff didn't even come close. They wore out the cables and just gave you a headache. I wish I had bought this sooner. Cuts body and wire very easily. Some of my cases were a bit dented with it at the cut end, but the awl in the handle corrected that quickly. They snap securely into place and can also be used to crimp small cable ends.

Fair price and great product!

The product works great and gets the job done cutting most cables. I've been using it for about a month now to cut brake cables on my bike and some other cables around the house and it works great. I find the tool inexpensive (I paid $24.09) and so far it's done a great job! I've looked at other bike cable cutters (including the Jagwire Pro Cable Crimper & Cutter) but this one was definitely the best deal for the price. Not sure if a cheaper cord cutter will work (it gives a very clean cut) and

Great tool for cycling

A while ago I replaced all the cables on my commuter bike and used old wire cutters from my tool kit. It was ok but definitely not perfect. It was my fucking passenger, so whatever. Then the cable on my racing bike snapped during a ride. I figured I would replace all the gears/brakes and cables. I also decided to use a special tool with an awl in the handle to make the job easier. This tool did not disappoint. Trim everything carefully and the awl will expose the cut ends in the body which have

Probably the best tool available for cable and cabinet work

Cuts case and cable as cleanly as possible, includes an awl at the base of one of the handles which is unexpectedly handy (didn't have to in don't look for a separate awl in my tool kit), crimping rings (has a crimping tool in the part of the handle next to the spring), * both body and terminals, has a handle locking feature and is generally very well made. good and worked enough for my job. It should be noted that I originally purchased the Park Tool branded version of this product due toโ€ฆ

Not worth the extra cost compared to alternatives

A good set of knives to begin with. Very good without compression brake housing, leaves little burr on standard screw winding. Cables are cut cleanly. After a year of non-professional use that saw probably a hundred cables and body parts severed, it's now struggling to cut through the Kevlar shell of Jagwire's own non-compression case. I have to cut off the frayed ends with scissors. There's also a usability nuisance: the flip-lock tends to get in the way of the opposite handle, preventing aโ€ฆ

Bike cable tool.

I recently replaced my bike handlebars and this meant I had to run new cables to accommodate different shifting and braking positions. I used to get by with diagonal wire cutters and an awl, but decided to get it for this repair and get myself a proper tool. It changed the world. It cuts cases and cables very cleanly. The built in awl is great and the crimping tool is passable. To be honest I saved a few minutes on the cable by having all the tools I needed (except for the hex tools, of course)

Jagwire Pro Case Cutter

So far so good, 5 stars so far. I just bought this item because of all the high ratings it got compared to other similar tools. As many have said, it cuts through the cable itself, the casing, the casing with the cable, and the little awl built into the handle does an excellent job of opening the hole. And - it crimps both cable end caps and housing end caps with ease. I used it when I was converting my wife's mountain bikes. What started out as a "cart" full of various inexpensive singleโ€ฆ
