🍚 Japanese 4.2Qt (4L) Rice Washer Strainer Colander for Vegetable, Fruit, and Pasta Cleaning (Large, White) Review

I bought it to rinse brown basmati rice. It's a good size and as the drain holes are on the side the water collects in puddles allowing for a good flush. The problem is that when drained, the rice gets stuck in the holes, making cleaning a lot harder than it should be. In other words, I don't think this product is suitable for washing rice.

This is a large container that is great for rinsing rice before cooking. My only complaint is that the holes are big enough for some rice to get stuck in them, also transferring the rice to the pan can be messy so I have to be careful when doing this. When rinsing, I first have to push through all the grains that are stuck in the holes. Easy to clean, dishwasher safe. It's durable and well made except for the hole size.

I bought the large white bowl version and am very happy with the quality of this item. This makes washing rice very easy and convenient. I like it! For reference, I washed 3 cups of basmati rice and there was enough room for plenty of water to rinse the rice. I'm glad I have the large size because I prefer washing and lots of water. If I could I would give it an award for its design. I bought it to wash sushi rice. However, I also use it to wash fruit. I took a smaller one and that's more than enough. The holes are small enough so that the rice grains don't spill out when rinsing. The end of the "handle" is thin and just enough to slip 4 fingers under without taking up closet space when storing (although I keep it away all the time). The drainage holes are at one end only, and the contents won't fall out if you tip it over

For long grain rice, this little rice washer is amazing! The holes are high enough to allow the rice to soak and/or swish in the water before straining, and then the strainer can simply be tilted to allow running water to wash over the rice and strain without losing the rice grains. This rice washing and sieving machine is suitable for washing two to three cups of rice. Also, this rice washer/colander fits in other mixing bowls etc. in the cupboard without taking up too much space. I have green

May I give 10 ⭐stars?⭐ What a great invention. That must be in the kitchen. You can't beat the price. I want to buy a second one so I can always have it until I die and pass it on to my kids, what a wonderful rice strainer. It's not just for rice, I use it for draining pasta, veggies, or anything that needs draining. So far I've cooked a pound and a half of pasta and it fits in a colander with plenty of room.
