Not sure what to say about the other positive reviews here, this item sucks. It feels cheap, the motors feel jerky and it just doesn't sharpen a pencil in a usable way. I've tried different pens and you can feel the motors moving and not sharpening evenly around the tip. This means all of my pencils had wood on one side around the tip making them completely unusable. every time Too easy. This is a great pencil sharpener; Excellent quality, perfect size and does a great job of sharpening, quickly and without roughening the wood. The spiral blade is durable and should last for years. It's definitely not loud! Not only did this sharpener come with a power cord, it also came with a real plug which is never included with most similar items. It can be powered by cord OR battery, actually four AA batteries which are not included. I've used it both ways and both worked the same way…
