Great speaker but BEWARE of Revain gear.

First of all I would like to say that this speaker is fantastic! It's loud with great sound quality. At maximum volume, it lasts about 6 hours. It also won't connect to the Flip 4 yet. I called JBL customer service and found out that they plan to update the software in August 2017 to allow the xtreme to connect to the Flip 4. But BEWARE of the Revain devices. The unit I bought from Revain had "Europe" written on the bottom of the box and no serial number on the speaker itself. However, I didn't

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Unreliable

I was thrilled like many others and bought this speaker because of the amazing performance and reliable battery. Guess what - the battery lasts no more than a year. My first Xtreme was bought in 2015 only to die after 6 months of indoor use. After several problems with customer service, I finally got a replacement. I found that the new device has trouble connecting to the Macbook Pro and has feedback noise. Remember that the first speaker didn't have any of these problems. Then I called JBL…

Not worth a chance.

I'm sad to write this review but I have to evaluate it on the long run and what it's really worth. First, the sound quality is amazing. can easily fill a room or two with music. I've never had distortion issues when it had more than 20% battery. Now for the bad. I've had my JBL Xtreme for 17 months now and it's holding up very well and has never been dropped or spilled on the speaker. I kept it in a padded case for very light travel. Then suddenly, when unplugged, the speaker randomly turned…

JBL Extreme VS SRS X-33 VS OontZ Angle 3XL ULTRA VS UE Megaboom

I've replaced my amazing little Sony SRS X-33 with what I was hoping was a major upgrade. I first bought a Sony SRS X-55 but due to the high price something was missing so I went back and after researching the internet settled on the UE Megaboom. While the Megaboom's design and performance were fantastic, it had disappointing bass. I decided to stop by Best Buy to get a quick overview of what's on offer and what's on display. My visit lasted between 10 minutes and an hour. Best Buy offers about

Great Buy: Portable Bluetooth Speakers

I loved this speaker so much I bought a second JBL Extreme to pair with my first JBL Extreme which I bought for Christmas. Volume and clarity are fine for me. The bass is loud but doesn't drown out the highs like the Bose Soundlink Mini. I have two UE Megabooms and they can't compete with these JBL Extremes. The UE Megabooms should play ambient music in my house and they do a pretty good job. These extremes fill my house with music and sound. Satisfactory bass and clear highs, as well as good…
