I have purchased these sponges several times and they never disappoint. I use them in the kitchen (although they would probably work well in the bathroom too). They are absorbent, thick, with a soft mesh side for glass and utensils and a fluffy side for pots and pans. So that no food smell or bacteria develop, I put the sponge in the microwave for 30 seconds (per side).

Excellent structure, thickness, absorbency. Odorless, excellent sponge, does not scratch. It foams well so I use less detergent. Excellent price. **Machine wash and tumble dry over 20 times = they will keep their shape, size and texture! Refresh with baking soda and vinegar. Do not bleach. So amazing! Comes in two layers of plastic, but it would be more environmentally friendly if wrapped in paper and cardboard. Not strong enough for baked or dried foods.

First, it is not 100% bamboo. Outside maybe, but inside yellow synthetic foam sponge. The sponges are too thick so they absorb too much water - when I squeeze out the water it splatters everywhere. They also started falling apart after a few washes. I washed them regularly for a couple of weeks and thought they would be a more attractive and environmentally friendly alternative to regular synthetic sponges, but no. Let's get back to the blue ones from the supermarket.

Loved the idea of a sponge that's a little more eco-friendly and theoretically compostable at the end of its life. But these sponges are very thick and retain water, so they quickly smell sour. And if they smell sour, that means all sorts of bugs have gotten into the sponge. Pooh! They last a few washes but unless you bleach them the sour smell/bugs won't go away. And using bleach to clean them negates the greener lifestyle I've been trying to implement.

I bought these thinking they were chemical free. After all, they are advertised as "100% natural bamboo". But they smell like chemicals, and the smell is kind of weird, not the smell I'm used to from American products. I think this is the last time I will buy anything from China. I seriously doubt they have consumer protection laws, and I also doubt they care if they poison Americans with their products.
