9-Inch x 33-Inch Jessup Griptape Colors Skateboard Griptape Sheets Review

This is not Jessup at all. Besides that. The first review would have told me everything I needed to know. I wanted to get a handle on Jessop's mustard. What I got was a yellow bus handle with a hint of black speckles. Don't buy this. I'll return as soon as possible.

This is NOT a Jessup grip! Some nameless tape that was damn thick with a white backing that wouldn't peel off the release liner. As a result, I had to tear the wax paper from the back of the handle into about 10 pieces. Oh my god go to your local skate shop or even zumi. The stuff is actually Jessup's brand and only costs about $5.

Handle worked very well. If you get it right, most of the time it will be crisp, too. The only problem I had was on the delivery side. It was packaged in a huge pack of six (keep it flat I guess) but it was still folded inside. It was strange sending something in a box 20 times bigger, but the product itself was fine.

I don't use it for a skateboard, I use this product to cut the chain guard for my mountain bikes. This skateboard tape cuts easily with scissors and sticks very, very, very well to semi-dirty metal surfaces like those found on mountain bike chainstays. To be honest it's so gritty I'm sure you could practically sand the car down. The colors you see are identical to what you will receive.

Believe it or not, I've used it to put tape on sporty but not very useful metal gas, clutch and brake pedals that get very slippery in the rain which can be quite dangerous. After a couple of snow storms in Minnesota that got wet along with my boots, the tape is still as grippy as day one and the color hasn't faded at all! In skateboarding, the grip tape isn't the grippiest, but it all depends on the tape you want to use. I would rate it as average compared to some of the tapes I've used.

I order the brown skid mark and it is exactly as described. questionable packaging has been fixed. The box I just received for just a 9" x 33" strip was big enough to hold a skateboard deck. Almost superfluous. The strap came completely flat, no creases and as described. I am one of the main contributors so shipping was free but due to the size of the box I think you will be paying more for shipping than the actual cost of the tape. Packaging was fine but the tape felt very thick and so. I felt very weak and fragile. Most tapes are rolled up and more flexible, but I believe the whole box was only used for this one sheet because it will break/tear when folded. The back of the grip is white, not black or the colors of the grip tape (dark blue in my case). It didn't say "Jessup" anywhere in the passage, and I don't think it's the original.
