I was impressed with the quality of these magnets. But I bought them to replace worn out plastic dummy magnets. While they're fairly easy to install, they don't keep the blinds closed. The problem was simple; 2 exposed magnetic plates (plates in contact with the striker plate) do not levitate. This of course means that the magnet does not "self-align" with the striker plate and this causes a slight magnetic attraction of the striker plate.

The magnets themselves are good and the clutch really helps hold both pieces together. The only thing I complain about is the slightest resistance, the screws come off too easily. I've pre-drilled the hold and tried many bits that "should" fit the head sizes, and almost every screw I've installed has come loose. I've installed 6 so far and they keep the cat out of the closets but I'm considering buying new screws for the rest that I need to install which will add to the cost of the project…
