A nice board for culinary lovers.

This is a quality board and I absolutely love it. I have a 24 x 18 x 1.75". It's great, but too heavy for me. I wish it wasn't. There comes a point where you need to be able to carry it to the sink and to clean. It's too heavy for me but if you have the strength to handle it this is a great beautiful well made chopping board.I would highly recommend going for the 1.5" thickness due to of weight is more suitable for me Both great boards John Boo's board is made in America and used by chefs all…

It made my wife happy which is worth the money.

We needed a new cutting board and my wife wanted John Boos. I thought she was crazy but I bought her. It turns out great. Perfectly flat, heavy so it doesn't slip. You need to oil it regularly. When it arrived the instructions wanted us to buy some kind of air conditioning oil at a ridiculously high price. We just rubbed it with olive oil and it's ok. For the first time, it absorbed a large amount of oil. But overall it was a good buy. Great cutting board, wife loves it. Price offer.

After conditioning I noticed a dent on the surface

For such an expensive part I would have thought it would be perfect. I also thought the listing said it came conditioned but after following the instructions for finishing with Boos products (oil and cream) the color difference is noticeable so I doubt it was 'preconditioned' or if it was bad done. My biggest complaint is that there was a dent in the finish that wasn't obvious until I conditioned the board. I found it minor at first, but when my friend noticed it immediately, I was even more…

Shipped with defects and warped in 2.5 months

This is the second board we have owned from this manufacturer. The first lasted about 8 years without any problems. When it started to warp a bit I decided to replace it with this 1.75 inch model. When the new board arrived there were 3 minor blemishes and we had to return it immediately but I figured with regular maintenance and maybe some sanding somewhere in the future it would be fine. I was wrong. The defects turned into delamination, cracking and warping within 2 months. I have an idea…

DISPOSED OF THE PRODUCT!

TERRIBLE. I sent the first board back because it was defective. Received the second board and noticed a defect (? notch/no chip) on the left side of the board. I was so disappointed after the first board was shipped only to receive another defective cutting board. I was in the midst of flight preparations trying to prepare for the trip as I figured I would be back on board when I got home. AFTER PAYING THIS DIRECT PRICE FOR THE CUTTING BOARD, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS BOARD. I would…

Beautiful unit became expensive, total disappointment

I purchased a Boos unit from Amazon just over 2 months ago. After reading reviews of block cracks and the need to regularly clean and condition them with the branded oil and cream, I also purchased Boos oil and block cream and carefully followed all maintenance instructions. The two month old block now has a clear crack covering half of the board. Unbelievable! This is not a cheap cutting board so for the high price tag of $120 I had high hopes and confidence that with proper maintenance this…
