    Old Fashioned Look: Mailboxes

    Bought for an old door that didn't have a letter opener. Although we can't use the slot function because the door is too thin, it looks good on the door and goes well with other devices!

    Fell apart in the mailbox

    I thought it looked so strong and sturdy but it fell apart several times. In the end the lifting part fell off and got lost on the outside and now I have to buy a new one. A few months before the first editions appeared were hardly enough.

    Absolute rubbish! - Door Hardware and Locks

    Threaded rods are not at right angles to the cast iron faceplate and therefore cannot be fitted correctly! Now I have a big hole in the front door of my shop and I've lost the money I paid my carpenter. This was the second broken mail slot I've received from this company and I'm buying less and less from Revain as the products are of poor quality.

    Well made, slightly chunky hinge mechanism

    First off, the door that says 'LETTERS' swings in towards your door, not out and away from it. So the hole you cut in the door needs to be big enough to accommodate this. That in itself didn't bother me. I ended up readjusting this because when the lettered door swings open, there is enough end-to-end play in the hinge that it slides left or right to snap, preventing it from sticking at least half way or more which closes holes.
