Shiny and Stout - Caravan Parts & Accessories

I bought these latches to upgrade the flimsy plastic latches that came as original equipment. I use one on a large generator bay door where a flimsy plastic latch gave me a few concussions when it let go as I access the generator and other accessories. 44 inch TV on the inside of the door and open the door to watch TV. I suspect that this job requires 3 or 4 times as many plastic fasteners.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Should last a long time.

Purchased to replace the original plastic clips which were beginning to become brittle and crack in the sun. I didn't use the screws that came with it, I used the stainless steel screws that came with it. What others have mentioned about not fitting into the existing holes on the old clamps. I prefer that they don't fit in the same holes. That's how I know they're getting tight. Just fill the old holes with sealant before installing these. The base of these clips covered the existing holes so…

Pros
  • Hands Free Operation
Cons
  • Appearance

As usual, the holes never seem to line up, but it's not hard to get them to work. So 1 star because they could have made them more versatile by lengthening one of the holes (but only 1 please!). They appear to be of very good quality and only time will tell if they hold up. I replaced the original plastics with white plastics after about 8 years. After 1 year they looked bad and I think one broke. So I try this stainless steel with high hopes.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Operating speed

Works perfectly! in RV Parts & Accessories

Firstly, DO NOT expect to put them right where your old door latches were. They are smaller than my original clips and the holes don't match the old ones. This was an advantage for me as the original holes in my camper had been trimmed down a bit. I filled the old holes with caulk, applied a small amount of caulk to the back of these clips, and installed them in just minutes. The only other advice I can give is to make sure they hold the door open before screwing on the new clips. They're…

Great replacement for our RV's - exterior and interior lockers

We've replaced our flimsy plastic with these stainless steel lockers for our external luggage compartments and we won't have to do this again anytime soon. The pre-drilled holes didn't line up with the current holes, but instead of drilling more holes in the camper, we drilled other holes at the base of the latch - and yes, make sure you use caulk to seal the holes. They look very solid compared to the previous plastic. We liked them so much we ordered another set for indoor cabinets which have
