Perfect fit for 2006 Ford Explorer XLT V6

My Explorer had a complete brake replacement. The brakes fit perfectly and the kits had everything you need to get the job done. Braking efficiency has been greatly improved compared to original equipment.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Only available in black

Now I can break in. Spare parts

This kit has more features than other kits ie boots and caliper sliders. It's well thought out. The brakes work well in normal driving, but expect the usual whistling noise from the slotted discs.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • poorly thought out

strange noise - braking system

braking performance is excellent. The problem is that they sound like they're dragging when you brake at higher speeds. I had a mechanic install them to double check after hearing strange noises for 3 days. Said they were just hard brakes and they looked ok. It still bothers me every time I brake on the freeway.

Great product so far

Just installed, followed all instructions for running rotors and failures (very important). I'm really impressed with the quality and performance. This was installed on a 2007 Sport Trac Limited and everything fitted perfectly. I will update this review after driving at least 3,000 miles and then 10,000 miles.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Upgradable

Great stopping power

I've waited months to write a review as I wanted to give the rotors and pads time to break in. I am very impressed with these rotors. I recently changed my tires while inspecting the rotors and found that they still had hatched buffing marks despite having over 3000 miles on them. The pads are like new and I expect at least 75,000 miles before I need to replace them. Good quality!

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Hard to say

The best aftermarket brakes at a price anyone can get!

At this price it is unbelievable. My truck stops ten times better than the Explorer factory brakes. They aren't dusty either. I have recommended Power Stop brakes to everyone I know. They also come with everything you need. Just make sure you hack them right, they will send you detailed instructions on how to do it. I will also buy their calipers on the secondary market. I've included photos of the parts, the parts on the Explorer, a new versus old comparison shot, and a break-in guide.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • High price

Fixed weak default braking on my Sportrac

I've driven my Sportrac 100,000 miles without them and it was difficult at times to keep the 5000 beast from swerving into traffic. I installed them for a few hundred dollars and what a difference. The truck stops as it should all the time. Why Ford didn't brake this truck properly from the start remains a mystery. Also, one of the rear brakes was intermittently locking up, which took a while to track down and I drove a few miles in the meantime. Luckily the rotor and pads are extremely durable

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Quality
