WRX Owners Beware Brake Kits

I bought this for my Subaru wrx 03, did the front brakes, everything ran smooth, everything fit, but when I did the rear discs the rotors fit but the pads didn't. Had to buy different rear pads but other than that they are pretty good.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Clarity

Easy installation. - Brake System

I installed this kit on a 2004 WRX. I used everything except the rubber sleeves. Pads and rotors are easy to install. Walking in pads can be a problem for those who live in the city. I live in a semi-rural area, so I just found a long mountain road to break into. So far they're working great.

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • Useless Features

Check if you have rear drums before ordering.

. I had already installed the fronts before realizing it and wasted a bit before Amazon agreed to a partial refund. They and the manufacturer, who I called first, wanted me to take the fronts off for a return.

Pros
  • . Great price.
Cons
  • . Some problems.

Great product for the price.

I installed these on my 2005 Subaru Wrx, after cracking it they worked amazing. I've used them a lot when riding the hill around me and they did a great job, there was very little brake fade for the time I've been using them. They also came with everything needed to change the brakes, new oil seals, some grease and all the springs. I've had them for about 3 weeks now and they don't warp, are still very durable, overall a great product.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Trade in available

I have a 2005 Saab 9-2x Aero and the front and rear rotors/pads fit with no problems. Stopping power is great, way better than I expected considering the perforated/slotted rotors have less braking surface. I've been using them for a week with no problems, no noise. For reference, the 2005 Saab 9-2x Aero is basically a 2004-2005 Subaru WRX Wagon with Saab body changes. It's the same 2.0 turbo engine and other parts as the WRX in 95% of the car.

Pros
  • good item
Cons
  • old

Not under warranty support

Front rotors warped during first 5000 miles mostly highway driving. I asked Power Stop for warranty support but they gave me a Revain customer service number and asked me to resolve the issue through Revain. This isn't the kind of guarantee I was hoping for, Power Stop. Update: December 2013 - After Revain replaced this kit to repair warped front rotors, the second set also warped after about 5000 miles. We need to change the rotors again. This time with a different brand. Before installing…

After 12,000 km. I'm still very impressed!

I installed them on a 2005 Subaru Forester about 60 days (2000 miles) ago. The installation went fairly smoothly (I've been making brakes myself for over 30 years), although I had a similar problem: the front pads were too tight. I just cleaned and used the old ones. The car was used and the brakes were warped after purchase. I suspect they may have been resharpened by the dealer, so I don't have much history or experience with this car or its normal OEM brake life. The items were well made and

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Not all will fit
