Waste of money and time!

Both bent when the original Fox Podium QS3 springs were removed. Went straight to the bin and had to order something else.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Single use, not intended for long-term use.

Customer service processed the return promptly. The product is made of cheap material. Used to install 5100 Bilstein on a 2002 Toyota Sequoia. The tool was locked and could not be moved to fit back into the carrying case. Good design, the materials used to make the product need a lot of improvement.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Nothing here

Great product but no instructions?

I love how solidly made this tool is, much better than the spring compressors you rent from the auto parts store. BUT no instructions? This tool has several moving parts and it's not immediately clear how best to work. A quick guide or at least a YouTube link with a tutorial video would be helpful. Plus it's a keeper and looks like it was built to last for years.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Doubtful

Great and way better than the auto parts store!

I wanted to put new shocks and springs on my Jeep, so I went to AutoZone to rent a spring compressor. When I compressed and reassembled the coilovers and then released the tension, I couldn't remove the compressor because the gaps in the spring were too narrow for the brackets. So I found this. and it worked great. So much faster and definitely felt safer than the other.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Defects

Feels much more reliable than a rental kit from a parts store

I have used these on my Sierra 1500 A-pillars. I like the brackets that help hold the compressor bottom hook to the spring. The spring compression is not for the faint of heart, this tool feels solid and I don't feel like I'm defusing a bomb every time I use it. Also designed for use with percussion instruments.

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • Minor issues

I have all my eyes and fingers!

I haven't lost a single finger and I still have all my eyes! In fact, I didn't feel as sketchy when using them as I did with the sets I've used in the past. It was easy to use and felt very secure. Smear the snot off so it doesn't stick and you'll be fine. Used it on the front stays of a 2018 Silverado 1500 to install some Bilstein 6112 stays. Take your time and these will work fine. Again, be sure to lubricate the threads!

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Heavy duty/Easy to use for light trucks

Needed to install the A-pillar on my 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71. I have seen many videos of other compression tools flexing/flexing under the pressure of a compressible spring. That didn't happen with this Kako spring compressor. It was easy to use and could be used with my air ratchet. Very stable, will not bend or twist the tool. Compressed the spring without difficulty. I put sealant on the threads of the bolts to keep them lubricated and it worked great. Easily holds the springs in a
