Good price but a different case would be nice

The softbox is easy to install and use. Stand magnets are a good idea. I had a bit of a problem with the poles staying magnetically connected, but it wasn't hard to put the magnets together to straighten the pole. The mesh works well and is attached to the softbox with Velcro. I would rate it higher if it came with some sort of pouch or belt to store the mesh. Gear pocket, can be deformed by squeezing or twisting.

Pros
  • Not cheap but neat

  • Minor issues

Decent compact solution

I had no idea softboxes were so expensive until I saw people happily buy this $60 softbox. As for value for money I think it's a good deal as you get a softbox and a grille. The softbox is not that thick. So when the light source is very bright, you still see the shape of the light, which means the light isn't as diffuse as you probably want it to be. The attraction here is the compactness of the solution. Someone mentions that it would be better if it was thicker or deeper. I agree with both…

To be honest there are many better options

I bought a big round diffuser. The diffusion sheet is INCREDIBLY thin. Too thin for diffusion film. This can be fixed by adding an extra layer of diffusion, but you'll have to tweak that yourself. Second, the diffusion sheet lands very close to your light source. The further the scatter is from the light source, the softer it is. In this case you have a very thin sheet very close to the light source. I would not recommend it at all. I think you'd better buy a diffuser panel and hang it on…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Not bad

Great product. There is only one disadvantage. The mechanism by which they connect to your light is somewhat uncertain. I think it could be better with the nylon strap you attach. but for $49 with the irreplaceable net. I won't complain. Works and works well enough. Is it working fine? Yes, that's right. Maybe better. yes could. It's cool S is.OHHHH YEEAAAAAAH! Note: I am using YN-900. At full power with no flare I get ISO 800, F5.6, 1/48 second shutter speed at 5ft for video right out of the…

Great product - only one small detail is missing!

The overall impression of this product is excellent - it does what it is supposed to do, it softly diffuses the light! The only change I would like to see is the addition of a piece of velcro to attach it to my lamp. The included "strap" doesn't hold the box very well in the light. Maybe it would be better with a much larger light source, but with my MyLo setup it dangles more from the fixture. It still works that way, but I would have preferred a tighter/firmer mount. Straps so I have a very…

Quality, quick easy installation, good value compared to alternatives!

These things work great! If you have LED panels, they will fit almost all. You don't need frames or adapters for specific light sources. They reduce about a light stop or two for reference. But they do an excellent job of diffusing light, minimizing the slight micro-shadows inherent in LED panels, and working to make the source a little larger for softer light. And the additional eggbox/mesh works great to reduce the light exit angle to around 20-30°, allowing you to effectively focus the light

  • Regular Price

Easy to wear. good for light controls and modifiers

Velcro for lighting up barn doors. Offers *a lot* of attenuation compared to a multi-bulb LED, but you still get a fairly 'directional' source. You need a much larger canvas to get really soft light. The magnetic kickstands work well but can easily be knocked off or destroyed when moving. Easy to fix after setup. Folds into a very small and light package. This kit, which includes the IMO mesh, is essential to prevent side spills from the front of the source. No problem if you are in an open…

Beautiful soft light, lightweight and portable

For the price I was expecting something flimsy which looked like a cool idea but didn't work. I was wrong. I typically use a large 24x24" Chimera softbox attached to a 600w or 1k Arri Fresnel ($500 light and $400 softbox) to achieve an incredibly similar look as what I just saw of this $50 softbox and every other $100 softbox. or less LED light. I use the GVM 580 and I have to say how impressed I am with the soft light this box gives off. The egg crate is very effective in narrowing the focus…

Good, but not deep enough to really control light spread.

Well I'm at the Longview Film Club and we recently used 3 of these on set. We shot at night to make a day car look like a car driving at night. We put them on 3 of the newer RGB lights we had. We wanted to have more control over the direction of the light. The results were good, but not quite what I was hoping for. Just not as directed as I would like. We have other lighted egg crates that work better I think because the mesh is deeper than this one. So I would say it's ok, but not outstanding.

Pros
  • EASY TO FOLD AND CARRY: Open the D-Fuse softbox and fasten it with the fastening straps to soften the light. You can add straps to all four sides of the back of the softbox to attach to the LED panels
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
