Think of a water bottle before you buy

This cage is definitely worth the price. It's big enough for my dwarf hamster to play and live comfortably, but strong enough that he can't get out. It was easy to put together, my only complaint is that there isn't really room for a water bottle. I had to buy a smaller one which I have always had trouble with because they are plastic and my hamster has trouble pouring water out of them so my glass pokes through the bars of the cage. even just in case that doesn't really work due to angle and…

Not worth the money keep looking

Should have listened to other reviews. I got this because of the size and spacing between the bars. For another $50 you can get a nation of creatures. This is 100% solid metal and easy to assemble, but if you're looking for one for mice or something that small, the distance between the bars might be too big. That's why I ordered these. Cheap plastic, top doesn't fit properly. Difficult to snap the metal bar behind the two cheap plastic pins to hold the top. There is space between the plastic…

A bit flimsy but larger than the average critter trail cage.

On the plus side, this cage is larger than a normal Crittertrail hamster cage and can be connected to other Crittertrail products with hoses. However, it was a bit flimsy when assembling it, and I ended up reinforcing it with tape (taped where the metal cage meets the plastic "top" and "bottom" because my Syrian hamster squeaks when squeezing almost ran away). him). onto the plastic plate and separating the plate from the metal. Also, the set didn't include a water bottle, food bowl, or wheel…

540 square inches of pleasure. Ruby the hamster approved!

I thought a lot about buying this cage because of conflicting reviews, but I went with my intuition and so far I have no regrets! It was easy to follow the instructions and I had no problem closing it or escaping my hamster because she is a curious escape artist. She loves her cage and plays in it all night. So much to do! I often change things for her to keep her from getting bored and encourage her to explore more and move. I take her to the bathroom every few days so she doesn't bite the…

Huge gaping hole and brittle plastic

The only good thing about this cage is that it's huge. I wish Katie would make more hamster cages bigger than those tiny colorful cages only for the littlest hamsters. However, this particular cage is made from the thinnest and cheapest plastic available. Wire and plastic parts almost do not fit together. Worst of all, they left a square hole in the metal part to attach the Kaytee tubes. This is stupid for two reasons. 1. Any hamster that requires such a large cage (Syrian) will not be able to…

Pros and cons this is a good cage just think what you are paying for

PRO: I really like this cage. I think this is great for people who want a cage that is more than enough square inches to meet the United States minimum requirements for their hamster without building a litter cage or purchasing an aquarium. It has plenty of room for all kinds of toys for your hamster, enough depth for your hamster to burrow in, and there's space to hook up additional trail accessories, which I think is a really cool feature. It was very difficult to put together and in the…

Good size but very poor quality for size and price.

This is a good size for a hamster cage and I was really hoping it would work as another stronger cage that our hamster escaped from. The cage is big and the metal bars are bigger BUT they are the same thickness as the small cages. The small cages withstand pressure without deforming the metal wire, but a rod twice the length bends easily, like a paper clip but not half a paper clip. The force required to assemble the cage deforms the bars and they are not strong enough. The bars need to be a…

Great start! - Homes & Habitats

As a new hamster owner, I read today's article Hamster Space Needs Wisdom and thought if an adult hamster needs this much space, surely a dwarf hamster could do with half twice as little (or less) . ). boy was i wrong! I started with a two tier Kaytee and just felt guilty about how small it was. My winter white was climbing and chewing on the poles and I was so afraid he would hurt himself. I still wanted to use my original home the way he was used to and I wanted to make this move with as…
