Fine, but after 2 weeks they fall off

After 2 weeks they fall off one by one and I later lost one. They felt good and correct, but I don't think they hold up the boots very well. Sorry to give a bad review.---old review You fit well. I think cleaning the spikes before installation is important. I wish it was tighter but it seems to be of good quality and should last a while. It is made of pleasantly soft plastic.

  • Best in their niche

A huge improvement over replacing expensive cleats.

I've been riding Speedplay pedals for many years and have regularly invested in new cleats because I've worn them down to the point where I've lost the Phillips head screw pattern. Bought these with my latest spike replacement. I can say that in just a few rides I will never wear out cleats again. They are comparatively cheap and are sold entirely in stores. If the tires go, I can just order a new pair. I already have a spare part on the shelf.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

I would give them ZERO if possible!

The right spike came loose on my first ride! I forgot something at home, I picked it up and when I come back my shoe is on the street! I put it back on my shoes and made sure it came off safely 2 more times during the ride. When I got home I made sure both boots were tight. After my next trip I come home and my left boot is gone! My previous set of spike covers was on my boots for so long they literally fell apart, never had a problem with them coming off! Buy at your own risk!

REPLACEMENT of covers recommended for NEW cleats

The description doesn't say so but the instructions that come with the REPLACEMENT cleats state that they are recommended for use with NEW cleats. Mine took less than a ride. One fell at the first stop. Second exchanged and checked. At the next stop one was gone. it must have fallen as I pressed my foot against the light. Looks like a scam. It is recommended to replace the covers with new spikes. I'm all for saving a dollar, but it's a classic dumb dime-and-pound deal.

They work great. Less slip and spike protection

They work great. Less slip and protects spikes. I'm seeing some wear and tear after a year, but that's to be expected. The only problem is that the cases are a little clunky and sometimes creak. A little dry lube will calm them down for a while. Updated 6/2018 Still working great. The clutch pattern is almost worn out but is still stuck to the bottom. The squeaking diminished as it wore out. I need to use bulkiness. They secure the stock several times from slipping. Without them, the Speedplay…

Both covers came off the third time I drove them.

The original covers for my fast game cleats were still intact on the cleats after about 18,000 miles. They both came loose and got lost the third time I rode them. It was a 100 mile charity ride so there were a few breaks and more than average walking but it's unacceptable for them to come loose and fall off. As I bought a second pair I made sure they fit perfectly before using them next week. The one on the right broke off on the way. I put it back on. Both disappeared at the end of 60 miles…

Easy to install and works well

I really like my lightweight Speed Play pedals, but if you run them a lot the surface will wear down over time if you do a lot of gravel riding. After almost 20,000 miles I had to buy a third set of covers but all the local sellers had left so I took a chance when I saw this brand online. Although they looked different, installation only took about a second. They look a bit thicker and have more tread. They wear well and the shape of the hole allows for easier intervention, which can be very…

Great cases for my Speedplay Zero boots!

These covers are amazing. Nice tight fit and very durable. Have used them for a few trips and doubt they will ever fall off. They do a great job of protecting my boots from my bad habit of dragging my right foot when stopping. It's also great to be able to walk indoors without damaging the hardwood floors. Dropped one today. It turns out that if you push them off (press on your toe) they can come off. I was lucky that I knew where I had done it on the drive and found him sitting in the middle…

The lid won't stay open unless you seal it with epoxy.

I put them on my previously closed boots and they immediately fell off. I walked 10 feet out of the garage and didn't even realize one of them had fallen. This product is not intended for permanent use. I mixed some epoxy and added glue to the front and back of the spike cap where it looks like they should hold the spike and see if that helps. This product may not be sold to third parties for its intended purpose. Yes, my boots weren't brand new, but they were always pre-coated and like new…
