This is a good mug for use at a desk. The base of the mug is about as wide as the mug is tall. The rubber pad on the bottom of the mug adds to stability. I bought 2 of theses as a gift. I fully know what I was getting. They are good mugs. I had to knock off a least one star because the seller who I believe is the manufacturer made me pay a full $10 shipping per mug! The were ordered together. Standard shipping and all. And S20 for shipping. A full 1/3 increase on the item. I WONT BE BUYING THEM AGAIN.

Hard to tip over which is nice. Feels like drinking out of a standard mug instead of metal or plastic, so doesn't change the flavor of your coffee. Not really designed to be leak proof or ultra portable. Great for an office or in the car. You can set it on your dashboard and it won't tip! Cool, retro design. Good conversation starter!

I am retired, living in RV. I make delicious coffee daily with a Breville and must keep it hot for at least two hours. I need a 17- or 18-ounce size. I use only wide bottom mugs. I own 7 styles so you might say I'm a wide bottom connoisseur. I usually buy PLASTIC because it goes in the microwave and the dishwasher (both important) and won't break while driving my 2007 Tiffin Allegro house down the highway. The shape of this mug is perfect for what I want. It works out for now but I’m a little suspicious of the lid. You drop the lid in and it has two prongs that grasp the mug in the grove you see near the top. I wonder how long the prongs will last before breaking. If I knew I could get a replacement I would be fine with it. It is ceramic so I’m not sure it can take a fall. Not the mugs fault, I’m just hard on mugs. This is a fantastic mug for Trekkies who never have to go anywhere. It's great for holding liquids while stationary and demonstrating to a very small subset of people that you are the coolest kid on Deep Space Nine. Unfortunately, the lid doesn't have any locking mechanism and is in no way leak-proof. It doesn't seal, and there are big gaps where coffee comes spilling out if you so much as take a sharp turn. If you're looking for a travel mug, this isn't it.

Felt compelled to revisit this product after many months because of how useful the mugs are for everyday coffee consumption. I dispense drip coffee to these mugs using a Bonavita, and this works great for about 4 cups of coffee, ready to be on-the-go (and avoids the dispensing to a metallic carafe). The pads on the bottom of the mugs are incredibly resilient and have maintained consistency and shape, the mugs do not leak and look very nice, and the caps maintain some heat, just a great product.

Got a cat. He found a way to ruin my morning cup of coffee by either sticking his face in the regular ceramic mugs or knocking over the "spill proof" travel mugs. I looked high and low for a bottom-heavy coffee mug. The rest of them were metal. I needed one that could go in the microwave. This one fit the bill perfectly. Thank you! I can now enjoy my morning cup of coffee. The cat can't knock it over or stick his face in it.

Great mug that holds a lot. Very stable, sits on my couch armrest no problem. Only one minor complaint is the top/plug is extremely loose. I'm not sure the point of it because if the mug did tip over it wouldn't hold anything back. Also, it doesn't help keep the heat in so I just leave it off most of the time.
