Great Off-Road Accessories Best Exterior Accessories

I always have this in my jeep. I've pulled a lot of cars with it. I also used it to tow my jeep. I recommend this to anyone who gets along a lot without roads. It's also great to keep in an emergency kit. I live in the Midwest where the roads are horrible when it snows and I undoubtedly got my money's worth!

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Little Things

problematic retaining spring clip

The problem I have with these straps is that the retaining spring clip on the hooks is not strong enough. I had trouble with them bending to the sides so the other hook wouldn't stay in place. As a result, I've had several slips of this belt. Otherwise a good product. I'm considering replacing the hooks with D-rings. Yes, cutting off the hooks hurts.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • boring packaging

Simple and strong. fits tow hook and strap

I used these straps to straighten a maple that was hit by Hurricane Sandy. The rope was just taut without the tree moving at all. The straps have almost no stretch and feel very strong. The maple is straighter now, not perfect. Hope it survives the winter. The straps were easily attached to a tree on a two ton capacity winch for a month. Good solid product. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • No performance

Appears to be of good quality

The bracelet appears to be well made and durable but I haven't had a chance to test it in the real world yet. It didn't seem to break even when tension was momentarily applied, which is good quality for a tow strap. The case is nothing fancy - just a plastic case with latches and a handle. I wouldn't expect it to be badly damaged without breaking, but it's nice to keep the band clean and dry. Something like an aluminum canister would be better, but that would certainly increase the price.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Not sure

It worked. good for hauling products and winches

A long time ago, yellow, worked. Twice. Stuck in dirt by the side of the road, this inexpensive tow rope quickly towed two cars. It's lighter than chain and strong enough to handle a full-size vehicle. This is quite long and should be enough for several uses. The hooks are strong enough, but the only complaint is that they're too thick to fit in small car tow straps. But you can usually find something to hang on, and the hooks are big enough and smooth enough to hook onto the strap if needed.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Good but not great

Just right for the occasional user!

My jeep seems to be getting more and more use here in central Oregon. Winter pulls people out of snowdrifts and ditches. Neatly stowed in its case, this 25-foot tow strap is just what you need to get the job done. I used to carry a long strand of polythene rope that would usually get tangled up my back. It has worn out and broken with use. Now I have a small plastic case with a neatly folded strap, ready to take with me. For the price you can't beat it. Don't have a jeep? Then you need one more

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok

How did this tow rope help me?

This tow strap has received quite a few kind people, The first time this workable tow strap was on the interstate where the old crown was having trouble with a decent snow condition, so my subordinate and I came to the rescue, this tow strap did exactly what it was advertised for. It also seemed a little too flimsy, making it feel more like a very strong rubber band than a solid chain. That's what you want, you don't want hard pressure to break something. The second case was when I was driving…
