Good product at a good price, I recommend to try it.

I compared a number of speaker options, including the dali opticon 2 mk2, the b&w 707, the monitor audio gold 100, the classic kef ls50, and this version of meta. All were good speakers, but very expensive. The sound of the previous classic ls50 and the ls50 meta version are nearly identical, and I preferred the classic models even more. However, the price of the meta version is 40% higher than that of the classic model, and while the design is simpler, the matte surface of the meta version…

Pros
  • decent sound
Cons
  • Compared to the old ls50, the price is significantly higher due to the simplified design.

An improvement over the LS50

In my opinion they have the traditional KEF LS50 sound but with improved mid-bass, treble, clarity and detail. My ears hear a definite improvement with the META updates. They don't like badly recorded material, but well-recorded music shines. You need a good, properly tuned subwoofer. The old HSU works for me too. You need a good amp. They are just as power hungry as the old LS50s and seem to prefer AB power supplies over D power supplies. Don't ignore the amp recommendations as hooking them up

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Legitimate Improvement - Speakers

In short, the LS50 Metas are great. I have had the previous generation LS50 for three years now. In my quest for perfection I've used multiple amps (I wouldn't recommend Class D for the LS50, too bright, empty). Anyway, I've found a decent pair in the Music Fidelity M5si, but have never been entirely satisfied. Part of the reason for my disappointment was that I have a pair of GoldenEar Triton 7's that are fully holographic (highly recommend these towers to anyone) and they've stepped on the…

amazing vocals and mids

amazing speakers. The build quality is top notch, they appear to be forged from steel and very heavy for their size. I definitely like the matte finish and when you tap the side of the speaker it sounds like you're tapping a solid block of wood. the mids are the best part of them, male and female vocals sound smooth and forward but not unbalanced. The highs sparkle and the cymbals sound great. The soundstage is good but I have yet to place the speakers properly and I'm sure they will sound…

  • Good but not great

Fantastic speakers: Can't beat their small size

I'm still trying to figure out why Revain is asking for the "Transparency" and "Thickness" ratings. ? / Anyway, I read and watched reviews on these speakers before delving into them and eventually built my AV system around them. These aren't my first KEFs, so I knew KEF offered accuracy and build quality. I'm getting older and have less time to try out a "problematic" speaker that might look great but doesn't have the physics and acoustics behind it to might sound exceptional. phenomenal time…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Another winner from KEF

Still taking them apart. First impression: very, very good for orchestral music, especially strings. Strings of all types sound fantastic: guitar, lute, violin - from Paul O'Dette to Prince, they are simply fantastic. similar in style, size and accuracy. I revered and still love the original Anniversary LS50s for their clarity and impartiality. They are good for capturing the human voice - sopranos have never sounded so clear and precise: Absolute fidelity, without added color. The metas are…

Not so good so far...

This is a really expensive pair of bookshelf speakers so my expectations were high when I opened the box and installed them. I used good quality speaker stands from a B&W bookshelf speaker set I had because KEF stands weren't available. Period" for optimal listening. At the time of writing this review, I have approximately 40 hours to mix pink noise and high dynamic range music content. My test system consists of: • Emotiva XPA-5 Gen 2, 200 watts per channel Class- AB Amplifier • Oppo BDP-205…
